Thanks. The article about 10,000 steps is for an average person, and I presume of a middle aged.
The older we get, the steps we take will also naturally decline unless we keep ourselves fit and make it a point to walk briskly. The article says If you walk at a fairly fast pace, then the number of steps can be less. The main point to note is to be physically active and it is said that even standing is better than sitting. We are advised to stand for sometime, stretch our arms and legs when we watch tv etc. People who work in the offices are advised to get up from their seats, whenever they can, and go around before they can sit and continue their work. Sitting is the latest silent killer, someone wrote. But let us be careful and not get too far ahead of ourselves and listen to what our body says. If not sure, consult a doctor about what lengths we can go to and when to stop. In other words, let us know what our limits are.
