Sir,
The question was is it possible to measure electric current enter the body by
touching bare  ware without getting shock by it first.

What I wrote is taught to me in the 1st year or so in BSc. physics. touch with
finger nail which has more resistance. I would have answered by using phase
tester, but question was by touching.

He has mentioned bare wire, so lightening is excluded.

Other than general information whether your response any way addition to the
answer?

Q1     The term electric shock indicates an injury caused by lighting (natural
electricity) or when electric currents are passing through the body (usually
from artificial sources). The body is traversed by an electrical discharge and
the clinical picture varies depending on the dynamics of the accident, the age
of the affected or wounded, the voltage, the amount of current (amperage), the
type of current (direct or alternating), the body’s resistance to the current,
the current’s path through the body, the length of time the body remains in
contact with the current’s source, and the duration of electrical exposure. The
combination of these varying factors can lead to different effects on the body,
ranging from a mild tingling, to that of more extreme cases in which it can
lead to instantaneous death. Electric shock can affect the exterior of the body
(i.e. the skin), due to the fact of the skin's resistance to the electric
current. A higher skin resistance to electric shock may lead to the skin being
burned, but not allowing for the electric current to enter the body, this is
also true for the opposite, where the skin is not resistant enough and allows
the electric current to flow through the body (which may lead to internal
burning of organs), but does not affect the skin. Thick and dry skin is more
resistant to that of thin and wet skin. The nervous system, such as that of the
brain, nerves and spinal cord, are very sensitive to electric shock, an
electric injury may lead to neurological problems, which are the most common
consequences of an electric shock injury. Electric shocks can paralyze the
respiratory system and disrupt heart rhythm, which can lead to instant death.
Damage from electric shock is possible to the smaller vessels, as well as
cataracts, kidney failure and destruction of muscle tissues within the body.
Strong electric shocks are often accompanied by violent muscle spasms, which
can break and dislocate bones. In infants, electric shock injuries occur most
often when they put metal objects in their mouths.xxxxxxQ7     The daughter in

CULTURAL QA 10-2022-17

BEING  A COMPILATIONTHERE MAY  BE ERRORS

Q1         Can we measure how many volts we get inour body when we touch
something electrified without getting shocked by itfirst?

A1         Gopala Krishnan,Former AssistantGeneral Manager 1996-2004 at
Department of Telecom (1966–2004)Just now

During college daysI have studied in 1964, if we suspect electric leakage touch
the areawith slightly folded palm and touch with nails portion only. If
voltageis present the palm will be repelled and we may fall down than getting
severe shock.I do not know any new methods are.

Some rarepersons do not get any shock if they touch a 230 V bare ware.I had a
technician who felt nothing when touching 230 V bare ware.

Q2         Can a diabetic eat Elaichi bananainstead of regular banana?

A2         Dr Geeta S Kaimal, Former ContentWriter. Sat

Elaichi banannasare of small size compared to regular bananas. The bananas have
low glycemicindex. The Elachibananas contain high potassium which is very good
for heart and kidney. The vitamin content is the same as regular banannas.
Diabetic patient take elaichi banana instead of regular banana and eat in
moderation. It contains Vitamin A,B,Cwhich are very good for health. The
vitamin C boosts the immune system. It containsfibres which is good for
digestion.

Q3         If a train ticket is confirmed but thepassenger doesn't board, what
happens?

A3         Ankit Barnawal, Former Student at DoonBusiness School, Dehradun
(2017–2022)17h

Nothing willhappen.

After the traindeparts from passenger boarding station, the TTE will come to
check whether thepassenger has come or not. If he will not find the passenger,
he will wait forupcoming stop. If then also the passenger don't comes then the
TTE will allotthe seat to the one's having ticket in RAC or Waiting List.

You will not get any refund in this case and this simplyresults in wastage of
your money.

Q4         How long does it take for your stomachto empty after eating a meal?
What are the consequences of eating too much foodat once?

A4         HHJafri Jafri, Homemaker at Currentlyat Home Thu

After you eat,it takes about six to eight hours for food to pass through your
stomach andsmall intestine. Food then enters your large intestine(colon) for
further digestion, absorption of water and, finally, elimination ofundigested
food. It takes about 36 hours for food to move through the entirecolon.

CONCEQUENCES OF OVER EATING

It is always bad toeat too much at a time ,beacuse u can't burn it easily, as
said earlier thefood takes time to digest and eating too much at time take to u
to otherhealth problems.

Q5         What are the best foods to eat beforesleep?

A5         Laura Bailey, Get Fit. Get Healthy. GetResults! Oct 11

There are a fewthings to consider when choosing the best foods to eat before
sleep.

First, you want to choose foods that are high in proteinand low in sugar. This
will help you feel fuller forlonger and prevent you from waking up in the
middle of the night.

Secondly, you want to choose foods that are easy todigest. This will help you
avoid indigestion anddiscomfort when you're trying to sleep.

Some of the bestfoods to eat before sleep include cottage cheese, Greek yogurt,
egg whites,salmon, and nuts.

These foods willhelp you sleep soundly through the night and wake up feeling
refreshed in themorning.

Q6         Is it healthy to eat an apple at night?

A6         Ansuman Mishra, MBBS from SLN MedicalCollege And Hospital, Koraput
(Expected 2026)Sat

If you eat applesat night or in the evening, this pro-digestive fruit can turn
against you andload on your intestinal functions. This means apples at night
willproduce gas and make you severely uncomfortable during the wee hours.

Also, the organicacid in apples can increase the stomach acid more than the
normal level and cancome in the way of your bowel movements.

Therefore,it is best to eat apples in the morning right after you get up or as
a snackbetween mealstoget its maximum benefits which include nutrients, weight
loss, good skin, greatdigestion and a healthy body in the long run.

Q7         Why do daughters-in-law of thisgeneration not want to live with
their in-laws anymore?

A7         Kanthaswamy Balasubramaniam, Lawyer Wed

I am sure they will

→ If the House isbig enough - say an Independent House with 4 Bedrooms

→ If Servants existto take care of Chores like Cooking and Cleaning

→ If In lawshave their own Financial Means and don’t depend on the Son for
anything

→ If In laws don’tinterfere in the Daughter in Laws life

The Problem is theHectic Schedule of Young Women today

Imagine working 9hours a day- in a stressful job and coming home tired and
hungry and returningback to a 900 Square Feet House with In Laws watching TV in
the living room. To come home, cook for the inlaws instead of ordering take out
or cooking a maggi and finishing it off.

Its called theBaghban Paradox

Both the Biological Bahus were decent women who simplyfelt irritated living in
cramped quarters with in laws and having their dailylives disrupted

While MahimaChowdhary was Loaded, Filthy rich, had a Huge Bungalow with
servants and couldeasily allocate a room to the in laws and have cooks and
servants manage thehouse and the in laws without a seconds effort. Obviously
she can afford to doall the Poojas and hail them in the Tum Hi Ho Mata mode.

#1 Money makes a big difference

If the moneyposition is comfortable - most families with parents work
wonderfully. If theparents have a stream of comfortable income and the son has
a stream ofcomfortable income - there is bound to be little friction.Sadly this
is rarely the case in most joint families.

#2 Size of the House and Servants make a big difference

A Big House withMany Bedrooms and Servants will make up for a lot of the
irritation on part of theDaughter in law. Cominghome and having the servant
bring you a Juice, having a hot shower and havingfood served by the cook -
makes a big difference.

#3 Interference in Kids Schedules

This is a BigFactor. A Mother brings up her kids. The Mother in law is
aSpectator. That should be the relation. Mothers in law should never advise
theMother unless asked for. Sadly many mothers in law interfere

#4 For a Mother the Son is still 10 years old

Mothers continue tobe mothers which irritate the wives. This is age old.

***Mothersshould know when to give up and pass the rein to the wife. This is why
most ofthe trouble exists - not because of Feminism etc.

Mainly because ofStress, Pressure, Smaller Housing, Tighter finances and the
need to plan farahead financially and interference

A Coaching Sessionfor Mothers in law would work wonderfully before marriage i
guess

My note-Even father’s and father in laws. Whilemost are decent and just talk
the matter, many consider their son is till 10years old. But talk the matter is
a must and leaving to their own. Iknow a case where son fail to recollect big
things and do all petty things. Reminder is must.

Q8         What happens to an Indian RailwayCatering and Tourism Corporation
(IRCTC) Tatkal ticket after the chartpreparation?

A8         Ankit Barnawal, Former Student at DoonBusiness School, Dehradun
(2017–2022)18h

The IRCTC tatkaltickets which remains not booked after the chart preparation
are made availablefor booking under the current availability quota.

With the arrival of current availability quota, this hasbeen reduced to some
extent as passengers can now book tickets even after thechart has been prepared.

Until theintroduction of this feature, there was no way to book vacant seats
after thechart has been prepared. This simple means loss of revenue for
railways asvacant seats means zero monetary gains.

Booking closes before 30 minutes of train departure.   No extra charges.

So anyone who wouldwant to buy a tatkal ticket for a lack of one in General
quota, he would simplewait for 3-4 hours for the departure time to find the
same tatkal tickets underCurrent _avlb and book them for even lesser price than
General quota tickets.

My note- But the railways do so only 2 hours beforetrain departing. I have
doneso. I could not get AC chaircar ticket and booked by ordinary chair carfrom
Chennai to Bangalore. It was summer. There was enough time after
reachingstation and just tried at current reservation. Though queue was large I
got it.Current reservation counters MUST BE MORE.

Q9         What are some examples of doublyreinforced concrete slabs, walls,
and beams?

A9         RAJENDRAN SAMBANDAM,Lives in CivilEngineering (2000–present)11h

Beam: A reinforced concrete beam with steelreinforcement both in tension and
compression zone is called a doublyreinforced beam.

Slab:For the most part chunks are planned asindependently built up. The
pressure bars at top should be tied by clasps tobase bars at spans. Doubly
reifcd should be deterred from shear contemplations.chunks Separately built up
for range second, doubly supported at help as acomponent of base reinf went on
at help.

support.concrete wall development can bedistinguished by thick walls and
profound window and entryway uncovers. Builtup substantial development
regularly comprised of 4" or 6" (100 mm or150 mm) thick, cast in situ,
substantial outer walls that were full level tothe railing and consistent with
the establishments
