It's correct however a few questions also we shall share: 1 Food for 33
million was enough once but today 7200 million have to eat; where are the
agricultural lands to cultivate even for 3 times daily food?; how to
reclaim?. 2 People lived in the forest and Forts, so no cement were
needed; and small wood pieces and old leaves were enough; now the total
homes required must be in billions; and majority of the homes need timber
to protect from cold; and for cementing need a lot of raw=materials
including from rocks and earth and some of from the forests. Many of our
homes then we wrought from these forests and the nature and living happily;
however, the posterity shall abide for the protection of nature and live in
the forests?. Nature has store in bounty; nature wishes for our living and
safety; exploitations for greedy money is anathema to well being; and we
are doing many things for that; one such since Apr 22 is.......The Union
Minister of Environment, Forest & Climate Change Bhupender Yadav on March
5th, 2022 launched awareness mascot ‘Prakriti’& other green initiatives for
effective plastic waste management. Mascot ‘Prakriti’ has been launched to
spread mass awareness about how adoption of small changes in our lifestyle
can play a big role in environment sustainability. It also teaches about
various efforts and initiatives that the Ministry of Environment, Forest &
Climate Change and Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) have taken in
order to ensure effective Plastic Waste Management (PWM) in the
country. *Launch
of other green initiatives *Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced
India’s pledge to phase out Single Use Plastics by 2022. Building on the
momentum further and stressing on the need for active public participation,
union minister Bhupendra Yadav administered ‘Swachh Bharat Harit Bharat
Green Pledge’ to the gathering. MoS Ashwini Kumar Choubey in his address
said that the e-Governance portals & apps would go a long way in ensuring
complete phase out of the single use plastic with ‘SabkaSaath, SabkaVikas’
as underscored by Prime Minister Narendra Modi
*During the event, following green initiatives were launched for plastic
waste management:* – National Dashboard on Elimination of Single Use
Plastic and Plastic Waste Management (MoEFCC)This aims to connect all all
stakeholders including Central Ministries/ Departments, State/UT
Governments, etc. through one platform and track status and progress made
for elimination of single use plastic & effective management of plastic
waste. 2 – Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Portal for Plastic
Packaging (CPCB) This portal will look after tasks that will help in
overall operational functions like improving accountability, traceability,
transparency and facilitating ease of reporting compliance to EPR
Obligations by Producers, Importers and Brand-owners. 3 – Mobile App for
Single Use Plastics Grievance Redressal (CPCB) This app will allow citizens
to check sale/usage/manufacturing of single use plastic in their region and
tackle the plastic menace. 4 – Monitoring module for single use plastic
(CPCB) This will be for for local bodies, State pollution control
board/PCCs and CPCB, etc. to inventorize details of single use plastic
production, its sale & usage, etc. in commercial establishments at district
level, and on-ground enforcement of ban on single use plastics. 5 –
Industrial production of Graphene from Waste Plastic (G B Pant NIHE & NRDC)
will promote more industries to come forward to up cycle plastic waste
*Other highlights of the event *– Union Minister Bhupender Yadav urged all
to put more and more efforts to beat the issue of plastic pollution and
work towards a better future. He also acknowledged and applauded innovative
solutions that are being developed by various entrepreneurs, start-ups and
students in the ‘India Plastic Challenge–Hackathon 2021’ and also
highlighted the immense talent and potential of Indian youth. – The
minister also conveyed the gathering about the IPCC Working Group III
contribution to the 6th IPCC Assessment Report (AR6), which focuses on
mitigation measures to keep the world aligned to the Plastic Waste
Management goals and what all can be done in order to stick to the roadmap
designed under the Paris Agreement. – Earlier, in Nairobi, the minister had
also lauded the efforts of the environment ministry and CPCB for setting up
e-governance portals & apps, which focus on addressing issues related to
Plastic Waste Management.
And no honourable citizen can ask the departments to work for the
aspirations of the people; what do the teachers of the institutions say,
when parents demand good teachings?; they say , it is not the duty of the
teacher alone, but the parents must also take enough attention. So too, the
governance includes the public involvement. The honest citizens must be the
participants as well as the whistle blowers. That is what a parent expects
from the family relations and children too, is it not. When RED-SANDERS are
being cut around Tirupati , can any honest citizen and others, say , they
are not aware of it?. People rob the peter and the peters rob the people.
Lets all change to be brave citizens and honest to the core, nature will
yield in bounty. KR IRs 211022
