YES, BUT no point in blaming others ONLY. Our own caste conflicts mean there is no Hinduness, so to speak, amongst us and we identify with our castes and not with our religion.
The atrocities heaped on the poor Dalits in states like UP, albeit reduced under the Yogi govt, make them feel it is no good being part of Hinduism. The yadavs and others treat Dalits as animals, or at least used to do so. Dalit women were and still are in some parts, easy prey. In T N, until a few years back, the Dalits cannot walk thru the streets where the Thevars live, wearing shoes and other such restrictions. How many of you know that the Dalit women cannot wear blouses when walking thru the streets where the Thevars live, but have to cover their upper part with their sarees. Even burial grounds were earmarked for them separately. We, the so called upper castes, cannot escape our share, a major one at that, of responsibility to this sorry state at present. There is so much divisiveness within us, others exploit it, as we allow them to do. Of course, the siculars won't make it easy for us to unite but will always find new ways of dividing us. Islam and Christianity also have their divisions but still they see themselves as muslims and Christians, unlike us. We need to do a lot of introspection, especially in the light of what is happening around us. Our siculars won't make things easy for us to unite. Pl see the 2 videos I sent this morning, Nehru and the Congress tried their best to belittle Hinduism and made us feel that the Moghuls and the British did us a favour by enslaving us. We don't need enemies sir, we are quite capable of committing collective harakiri. Thanks to the RSS, BJP and Modi, we are beginning, at last, to take pride in ourselves. But we still have a long, long, long, lonnnnnnnnnng way to go.
