The persons who felt they are ordinary persons by complexity, used to say,
“The young MBA thinks he alone knows; what is my experience; I am not
respected and that NO-NOTHING IS”. It is a complex. Many have it. A diploma
speaks against the Degree; an SSLC speaks against the graduate; a clerk
speaks against the officers; so, the complexity which was named
differently, by SIGMUND FRAUD; COMPLEXITY IS PREVALENT IN THE EARTH.
MOTHER-IN-LAW AND DAUGHTER IN LAW COMPLEXITY DO EXIST. Here I don’t know
what Mr Vijayakumar IAS said on TV. Out of Modesty and simplicity certain
words are spoken; but the truth is a reality. Unblemished truth. All are
only positions. But the added alphabets revealed something else, more than
the complexity can think. An Engineering degree is only a position and what
is the use of lamenting over wiring etc not as a lay man, but with the
stamp of an Engineer?  A judge is a position; RBI governor is a position;
Governor is apposition; but the qualities behind holding such positions,
are distinguishable from others even after coming out and until death; for
some even after the death, it continues; mortality is for many; immortality
is for a few; power if misused is not a power; power useful as a well water
to others for the drinking, is out of such stamps. Let the complexity be
driven away. And now what is IAS or selective services can be seen below:

Post-retirement: Officers can also be appointed to commissions or
tribunals. Their services can also be availed off in other departments of
the government. Many IAS officers are also sought-after by private
companies for their talents.

As you can see from the above, the salary and facilities of an IAS officer
are indeed attractive.

Powers of an IAS officer

Even if the facilities given to an IAS officer can be matched by other
professions, the power that an IAS officer gets and commands is unique. IAS
officers usually have the charge of the administration of an entire
district/state/department/ministry. This is a huge responsibility and a lot
of people depend on them to function effectively and efficiently. They have
the power to bring about positive changes in the lives of people. They can
influence policies on social initiatives, education, health and economy.
This power to serve the people and the country is unmatched. Only the
Indian Administrative Service gives the opportunity to take a direct and
active part in the progress of the country. The IAS officer salary and
facilities combined with the power that he/she wields is quite
overwhelming. It also presents an opportunity to serve the country by using
one’s talents and abilities.

An IAS officer receives a lifelong pension even after his retirement. About
10% is deducted from his salary. At the same time, the government also
contributes 14% to this. A retired IAS officer also gets a job in other
government departments.

After retiring they are appointed to the posts like CAG, CEC, Governor,
Lieutenant Governor, UPSC CIC in various commissions. Whereas, it
completely depends on the retired officer whether he wants to be
re-employed in any government department later or not? KR IRS 11122
