Imagine counting all your ancestors as you trace your family tree back in
time. In the nth generation before the present, your family tree has
2*n* slots:
two for parents, four for grandparents, eight for great-grandparents, and
so on. The number of slots grows exponentially. By the 33rd
generation—about 800 to 1,000 years ago—you have more than eight billion of
them. That is more than the number of people alive today, and it is
certainly a much larger figure than the world population a millennium ago.
Our Vedas speak only of 7 generations (if one can remember) which is 2 to
the power of 7 is 128 spreads. Every 7th generation there are DNA changes.
So, ancestry is defined as only 3 generations of srardham; 6 generations of
great great great grandparents. &Th generation is a change of structures.
Pravaran indicates your roots. The roots might have twisted somewhere,
which we are not aware of. Gotra indicates again the roots where someone
might have been in your family genes. It is a group. Hence even though the
Vedas say that all who are born in the earth are only Vedics, unless they
chose another clan, other than the Vedic cult. Hence only there are no
conversion mantras in here. Thus, all on this earth were Vedics prior to
1600 AD. May not be Hindus as Islam and Christianity had arisen already.
Thus, a generation is supposed to be 30 years for calculation and 7
generations would amount to 210 years only. Therefore, present Pakistan
Muslims may not be Hindus though if any one resided on this earth prior to
210 years and long long ago, might have been a Vedic. Yet the conversion
choice landed one differently. However, one can say that some of the first
converted parents could have been a Hindu had been a male and converted; or
not, as a lady married a foreigner, then even that rights are taken away.
Root might be, yet 7th generation cuts off the DNAs. Tamil verse says
“etraikkum ezhaer piravikkum unthannodu.” KR IRs 2122
