7. New toilet soaps There aremany more soaps available in Indian market. Some of the famous ones are Dove,Cuticura, Yardley, Dettol etc. Yardley remains a very Luxury soap. Dove is preferred byladies more. Cuticura is for kids. Dettol soap is widely used as a hand washing soap than toilet soap. 8 Soap advertisements If one observewhile watching TV, the most advertised ones are Dove, Chandrika, Lux, Life buoy and Dettol. Thoughadvertisement is more, Lux does not move like others. 9. Detergent bars. If my memoryis correct the first appeared detergent bars were RIN and DET. RIN was from Unilever. The detergentbars became very famous since they washed clothes very well than soaps. DET suddenly disappeared from the market. I searched a lot to find out the manufacturer of DET. I could not find out. Detergentbars Surf and RIN appeared in new form- lengthierlater. Surf is also fromUnilever. 10 Detergent powders Nirma was the first detergent powderavailable in India, but more popular in North India. Unileverproduced Surf, proctor andGamble introduced Aerial.For a long time Tide was only available in foreign countries. It became popularin India later. Tide ismarketed by proctor and gamble. Henko brand of detergent powder fromJyothy Laboratories is a popular detergent in India, from Henkel Germany with50.97% stake of Jyothy Laboratories. Ujala is also from jyothi laboratories. With semi-automatic washing machines became common,the market for detergent powders( granule form ) increased. All the abovecompete in the market, but more used ones are Ariel and Surf. I am told Henkowashes still better. 11, Detergent liquids Liquiddetergent offers similar performances as powder detergent, but it's more efficient in hardwater and against grease. Somehow, probably automatic washing machine prefersliquid detergent to granules, it has become more popular.
