*Mar*Diseasing the Young Minds


>From Pre Kg on we drill the kids, that getting good marks and grades is the
‘be all’ and ‘end all’ of life. We prevent them from their enthusiasm to
move, play and frolic. We make them practice the frozen limbs. As they
grow, we make them prefer the Bicycle, then the Motor Bike and then Car-the
easy way outs. The kids develop the mentality of sitting on the high horse,
the horse being substituted by machine. They develop the mentality of
feeling superior because they have a machine under their command. They mix
up their ego-centricism with machine-centricism.

We have wonderful books-The Atlas of The Universe, of the Solar System, of
the Milky Way, of every planet, of every region of earth. But we buy for
the kids the latest motor bike and the latest mobile phone. We do not train
them in locating the planets, stars etc, with or without any technology.

They become fascinated by new and new machines and just do not
conceptualize their potential to do physical activities, like climbing the
trees, climbing mountains, walking or running long distances. They
gradually develop the fear to use their own bodies for doing almost
everything. They need a machine between them and nature. They cannot
interact with nature directly. The word for this mind is cowardice. We have
the shame-less AC classrooms for KG kids. They are trained not to breathe,
smell and sense. Nature is made non-existent in their lives.

Life as the divorcee to nature is today’s economic life. We strive to live
lives as the economic man, the feelings-less machine, to whom ecology is
nonexistent.

Today, even when one wants to walk and interact directly with nature, one
finds only roads, buildings, motor traffic etc.There are few life forms to
interact with while walking. We find every animal, insect, bird, snake etc
casually entering thick bushes, but we cannot dare. Every other life form
learns from nature, by breathing, smelling and sensing, but we need books
and map knowledge only and we cannot dare to read and learn directly from
nature. Their intelligence is completely emotional intelligence, while we
want machines to do our thinking, and try to imitate the machines, by
training our minds to follow the logic of the machine.

We are busy mechanizing nature by destroying nature. We call it the
scientific mind and the scientific temperament. Diseasing the mind has
become learning.

Today very few understand that basically we are abstract beings, formless
in fact. If you can see everything-atoms, particles etc, then you cannot
even find yourself or even conceptualize yourself.

But there is a gigantic abstract communication continuously happening in
the universe and we too can participate in that communication as abstract
beings.

I find speculations, whether beings from the other planets etc have visited
or visiting us. We invariably assume that they use machines, very advanced
technology. We also assume that they also suffer from our glorified
disease-the disease of waging wars. In the abstract Universe of abstract
interactions, there is only symbiosis, not antibiosis. There is a gigantic
symbiosis of perceptions and interactions, and there can be no wars. In the
universe light years and light years, there is also the perceiving flow of
photons.

Today, education has become the cultivated indifference to the gigantic
abstract universe.
