Wow Madurai Somu . A metallic voice. He never had any curriculum in Music initially at Madurai. Yes from a poor family. He used to sing loudly while ascending and descending the TIRUPPARNKUNDRAM Murugan temple, My father who knew him well used to say. Later my father and Himself got shifted to Chennai. And he was asked to meet his guru who listened to his voice when the Guru went to that temple. That is how his journey of life started . My fathers' other friend is Dhandapani Desikar who later was HoD of Music at Annamalai University. KR IRS 8223
