Apart from the siva temple written and the flood saving Parvathi, I am led
to my memory where TAKKOLAM IS HISTORICALLY VALUABLE PLACE. Here Aditya
Karikalan s/o Paranthaka chozhan elder to Raja raja chozhan, who led an
army to counter the Chalukya at Vellore Thakkolam, in 950 AD around was
killed. His friend Vellaya Kumaran, head of his army and a close friend
could not accompany Aditya karikala. Later after hearing friends death
Vellayan lamented that had he gone might have saved the king. So out of
frustration, sanyasa went to Ganga. Later he returned back via "OTTIYUR"
WHERE STAYED IN THE NAME OF CHATURANATHA SCHOLAR. The name Ottriyur is
because of blotting out the flood water , today in chennai known as
Thiruvottiyur Thyagaraja temple. Chaturanatha was so famous. And these are
found in a stone culvert at the temple carved . And another Kalki Ponniyin
selvan was based on this stone where aditya karikalan friend was fictitious
Vellaya thevan, imagining, what would have happenned, had he beealice and
not became chaturanathan. KR IRS 4323
