Q1           Whatare some interesting facts you know about animals?

A1           Krishna Kamat, Lives in Hindustan(2000–present)22h

The blobfish was elected the ugliest animal in the world.Blobfishlive in deep
water just off the ocean floor around southeastern Australia andTasmania.

Q2           Canwe use a 1.5 ton and 1.0 ton AC's with a single phase meter
only during nights?

A2           Gopala Krishnan, Former AssistantGeneral Manager 1996-2004 at
Department of Telecom (1966–2004)Just now

Even working asingle 1 ton AC may not be possible. It may be tripping when near
by homesswitch on their AC. Electricity board will not permit even a “well
motor” withsingle phase current. InIndia EB will approve a window AC only with
three phase connection.

My next home inChennai had only single phase. About an year back, they
installed a 1.5 ton AC.EB asked the house owner to apply for three phase
connection, then only the ACfunctioned. This isbecause starting current is 12
amps approximately and running current 8 ampsfor an AC unit of 1.5 ton AC.

Q3           Whatis the difference between the World Wide Web and the Internet?

A3           Digital Services And Products,BusinessConsultant | Digital
Marketing Services | IT Guru Apr 11

While many peopleuse the terms "World Wide Web" and "Internet"interchangeably,
they actually refer to two different things. Here's a closerlook at the
difference between the two:

The Internet

The internet is avast network of interconnected computers and servers that
communicate with oneanother using a standardized set of protocols. It's the
infrastructure that allows computers all overthe world to communicate with one
another, and it has been around since the1960s.

The internet isessentially a network of networks. It's made up of many smaller
networks thatare connected to one another, and it allows people to access
resources from anycomputer that is connected to the network. These resources
can include websites, email, filesharing, and more.

The World Wide Web

The World Wide Web, or simply the web, is a system ofinterconnected documents
and resources that are accessed using the internet. It was created in the late
1980s by Tim Berners-Lee, who was working at CERN,the European Organization for
Nuclear Research.

The web is essentially a way of organizing information thatis stored on servers
all over the world. It allows peopleto access this information using a web
browser, which retrieves the informationfrom the server and displays it on the
user's screen.

While theinternet is the infrastructure that allows computers to communicate
with oneanother, the web is the system that allows people to access and
shareinformation using the internet. The web is just one of many applications
that run on topof the internet, and there are many otherapplications that use
the internet for different purposes, such as email, filesharing, and instant
messaging.

To summarize, theinternet is the underlying infrastructure that allows
computers to communicatewith one another, while theWorld Wide Web is a system
of interconnected documents that are accessed usingthe internet. While the two
are closely related, they are not thesame thing.

Q4           Canyou tell about heating of computer to 70 degree C?

A4           Well this is were notation would begreat!

70C or 70F  If 70F,that's awesome! Your CPU is well in the normalrange of
operation and doing just fine.

If 70C,well then you either have some demanding background processes or are
sufferingfrom overheating. If you are capable and comfortablewith it - clear
any and all dust and lint with compressed air, focus on thevents that the CPU
blower is housed.

You can back upyour data and try to perform a recovery. This will allow you to
see if there issome background software causing issues.

The next two mostlikely causes are

I. Your CPU blower fan is malfunctioning or has failed. This means the hot air
is just sitting in the computer causing it to overheat. It will be too be
replaced.

II. Your thermal paste likely needs replacing. This can be done by you, if you
have experience working on computers. I assumebecause of your question that you
likely do not. Ifthe laptop isn't that valuable, now is a great time to learn
how to take it apart, apply thermal paste, and put it back together. Otherwise
just have a localtechnician check it out.

Cholesterol alone, is not linked to heart disease anymore. It's the ratio of
omega 6 to omega 3 fatty acids which is linked to heartproblems. More the
amount of omega 3- the better the heart.

You can die while using an earbud. The postero inferior part of the tympanic
membrane is supplied by vagus nerve, and if irritated, can stop your heart.

Vegetarians are at a high risk for megaloblastic anemia, while red meat (mutton,
beef etc) are at a higher risk of colon cancer.Fish eaters are at a higher risk
of mercury poisoning, and chowmein eaters areat a higher risk of developing

Cancers can be prevented. And no,not by healthy eating bla bla. We have
developed specific methods for it now.

Skincolor isn't anywhere related to sun exposure. Youmay temporarily develop
tan, but it's never permanent. The number ofmelanocytes per sq cm is constant
in all of us. Its the activity of melanosomesthat decide the skin color.

You can die of sudden heart attack, even though you arecompletely fit and
healthy. It's a medical condition, that is genetic. We call it idiopathic
dilated cardiomyopathy.

There is a diseasewhich makes non eatable items like iron, chalk, dust, mud
tasty. We call it pica.

Unhygienicplaces have something good linked with it. Just because of it, we
will never have any serious hepatitis B infection. Most of these infections are
self limiting, that is our body will destroy thevirus on its own. However, in
western countries, you will have to spendthousand of dollars for a simple hep B
infection. Same goes for asthma.

There is apainless way to die. Yes, we have developed it too. I won't name it
though.

Q7           Howcan you get your car radio to work without an antenna?

A7           Arthur J. Byrnes,Politics,Technology, and Culture commentator Apr
14

Radio physics is interesting.Any radio, car, or boat, or airplane, or home or
even in your pocket needs an antenna of some type.

When AM radio was the thing in homes they often used aFerrite Antenna which is
basically wire wrapped around an iron rod.

These worked finein a home where there is not a lot of electrical noise. A good
radio also gave you theoption of an external antenna which could be a long wire
hung between 2 treesin the yard, or between the house and a tree or a pole.

But a car (ortruck, or boat, or airplane) has issues that you don’t have in a
normal homeenvironment. Engines!

The normal engineis an Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) which operates using
Spark Plugs.

The original radiotransmitters like used on the Titanic were “Spark Gap
Transmitters”, so the ICEhas 4–12 miniature transmitters which interfere with
radio receivers.Eliminating (actually reducing) this noise has been the bane of
mobile radioengineers since the first radios were installed in cars.

The antenna on acar is out side the metal shell of the car, which acts like a
shield to blockthe noise.

The metal shieldcreated by the shell of the car is also one of the reasons for
an externalantenna, because that same noise shield blocks the incoming radio
signal.

This is an example of the “Old Style” car antennas whichwere mounted on the
front or rear fenders;

If you are an AMRadio fan, this is the best car antenna for that radio band,
and many peopleinstall them as an after market modification.

The “Shark Fin” antenna is the latest compromise that theengineers have
designed.

In side it hascoils like the ferrite antenna shown above and other electronics,
since unlikethe old days, most cars have gps which requires its own special
antenna.

Inside it lookssimilar to this;

This answer hasonly talked about receiving antennas, as transmitting antennas
is a much morecomplicated subject.

Here you seesomeone who doesn’t really under antennas but thinks they do;

Q8           Whatare the interesting or lesser known facts about G. D. Naidu?

A8           Ratnakar Sadasyula, Proud to be anIndian22h

Coimbatore is often called the Manchester of India, due toit’s factories and
industries. Tamil Nadu’s secondlargest city, also called as Kovai, is an
Industrial, Technology, Textile hubof the state. And the reasonis one man,
often called the “Edison of India”, Gopalswamy Duraiswamy Naidu, aka G.D.Naidu,
the man who created the first motor in India.

Much like Edison, a school dropout, he was behind manyinventions and also
started many industries, playinga vital role in development of the state.

He was born onMarch 23, 1893 in Kallangal village near Coimbatore, son of a
humble farmerGopalswamy Naidu. Having lost his mother at an early age, he was
raised by hisuncle and aunt at the nearby Naayakanpaalayam village, where he
grew up undertheir doting care. Atschool, the teacher identified him as a
brilliant student, though quitemischevious too. However he could not get along
with the strict classroom environment, and dropped out of school, beginning to
work on his father’sfarm.

It was during his work on the farm, that he developed aninterest in reading,
and began to read books on everysubject that interested him. As he grew up, he
came to know about a medical company called Park Davis, and managed to finalize
a business deal with them of selling pain balms. Healso got married in the
meantime to Chellamal.

One day he saw aBritisher driving a motorcycle in his village, and desired to
own one himself. He went to Coimbatore, for thefirst time in his life, worked
in a hotel for 3 years, and managed to savearound 400 Rs. Later he purchased
the motorcycle from the British surveyor hehad seen and proudly showed it to
his father and wife.

He tried his handfor sometime in the cotton business, however with that turning
out to be afailure, he decided to stay away from it. It was around this time he
met RobertStanz, while looking for a job in auto industry. Robert knowing the
potential of Duraiswamy, offered him Rs 4000 and suggested him to invest another
4000 to buy a bus thatcould yield a good profit.

He ran hisfirst bus from Pollachi to Palani in 1920, and soon his transport
business flourishedin the decade to come, as he rose to become an owner of 70
buses.

When hiscompetitors failed to beat him, he invited all of them, and set up
United Motor Services(UMS), a joint venture, that soon became aleading
transport company.

The humble Duraiswamywho had never left his village till the age of 20, now
began to tour the world. He made his own camera, through which he captured the
images of leaders likeGandhi, Nehru, Netaji Subash Chandra Bose and also
covered the funeral ofEngland’s King George V in 1935. He began to learn the
latest industrial, business techniques, which he would put to good use.

He established National Electric Works in 1939, thatmanufactured the first
electric motor in India. It was a completely indigenous product, with all the
parts except the ballbearing manufactured in his company. He invented the
Rasant razor, that was made at a factorin a German town called Heilbronn, which
bought good profits.

His inventionsincluded a Refrigerator, Recorder, Mechanical Calculator, a
distance adjusterfor film cameras, fruit juice extractor, Coffee Supplier.

Heinvented a 2 seater petrol car in 1941, that cost Rs 2000, howevet then
BritishGovt did not grant him the licence. It was not just industry, even in
agriculture too he created hybrid varietiesof cotton, maize, papaya, banana and
coconut. He also deeply researched onSiddha medical system, coming up with his
own medicines. The likes of C.V.Raman andM.Visveswarayya visited his farm and
were impressed with his work.

He developed a goodrapport with many industrialists, political leaders, Govt
officials across theworld. In memory of hisfather he constructed a bungalow in
Coimbatore called “Gopala Bag”, where hewould spend the rest of his life till
his last breath. He firmlybelieved that students needed more hands on
experience, than mere academics.

And started two premier institutions in 1945,“Sir ArthurHope College of
Technology” and “Sir Arthur Hope Polytechnic” named so afterthen Madras
Governor. He later gave them to the Govt, and they are now called the Govt
College of Technology, and Govt Polytechnic, both leading educational
institutions in Coimbatore.

He felt that the four year course was not needed, and two years with practical
training was more than enough. However his proposal was notaccepted by the
Britsh Govt and he resigned as principal.

Later in 1946, hestarted Industrial Labour Welfare Association (ILWA), now
known as G.D.Naidu Charities, to imparthigher education with an emphasis on
practical training for students to getgood employment.

G.D.Naidu passed away on January 4, 1974, leaving a vastlegacy in the form of
his industries and educational institutions.

The G.D.Matriculation Higher SecondarySchool and G.D.Public School in
Coimbatore are now run by his descendants.

Q9           Wherecan I find the best teacher for anthropology optional at
Delhi?

A9           Sonika Kumari,UPSC 2021 Rank261; 2019 Rank 610Updated Apr 10

In my opinion, Vijay Sir's anthropology classes are thebest in Delhi for
anthropology guidance. His help in myoptional preparation helped me in clearing
UPSC CSE 2021 and 2019 with my namein the holy pdf, as well as 64th BPSC CCE
mains (announced last month in July2020).

My journey with anthropology started in June 2017 with anonline anthropology
optional class from Hyderabad.Although it helped me to understand what is
anthropology, but I found it'sapproach catering more to students who would want
to have a career inanthropology. As aresult, in my first mains in CSE 2018, I
struggled in exam hall to writeanswers of anthropology. Didn't get interview
call that year, which led me tostart thinking about state PSCs as a back up
plan.

As my home state isBihar, I chose to give 64th BPSC in December 2018. Cleared
it's prelims easily, but when it came to mains I found my optional preparation
lacking in manyaspects, and I couldn't afford to lose another mains to it. So I
started looking for guidance for anthropology in Delhi,it was then that I came
across Vijay Sir's classes.

He allowed me toattend some demo classes, after which I decided to join it for
BPSC mains atfirst in mid March 2019. With time as UPSC 2019 prelims also came
close, I alsoenrolled for UPSC batch in April 2019. Attended his classes till
end of April2019, post which I dedicated one full month only for UPSC 2019
prelimspreparation.

In mid july (12thto 15th july) my 64th BPSC mains got scheduled and I also
cleared UPSC prelims2019. Here in my BPSC examI found Sir's notes to be
extremely helpful and to the point. Cut toUPSC mains 2019, in the examination
hall I found myself to be at ease with thesubject for which I am very grateful
to Sir's guidance. He taught me how to simplify thesubject, to see the linkages
between paper 1 and paper 2 of anthropology, to beable to witness anthropology
in daily life.

Even during 2021mains, (which I wrote for rank improvement) sir's support was
the key to get a decent score inmy optional. He provided on phone guidance,
along with weekend classes to brushup important topics before mains.

His books for bothpaper 1 and 2 of anthropology are very useful and has
information in crispformat in simple language to help the subject in a quick
manner.

I personally even benefitted during my interviewpreparation, where help and
support from sir immensely developed my confidence.

Optional play amajor role in getting through this exam, and that really helped
me in my mainsin 2019 and 2021 to clear this exam. So it's important that we
choose our guidewisely.

Sir is quite passionate about Anthropology, he seeseverything from the lens of
the subject. Recently siralso visited several tribes of Chattisgarh, which is
very unique. Hisexperiences of the visit will also help several aspirants in
writing betteranswers.

I am sharing thelink of Sir's video on his Chattisgarh visit here. It will help
many aspirants.

Q10                 Iam using an old laptop. How can I speed up its performance?

A10         Nagen Bhai, Works at Freelancing Updated8y

The following MAY help increase the performance of yourLaptop.

Software part:-

UNINSTALL anythingand everything that you don't use, including those claiming
to 'speed up' yoursystem.

Go to 'run'(Windows Key+R), type msconfig. Click on the 'Startup' tab and
disableeverything apart from what you think is worthy of an automatic startup
(e.g. anAntivirus).

Go to 'run'-->type prefetch -->press enter --> delete everything you can.

o to 'run'-->type %temp%-->press enter --> delete everything you can.

Go to 'run'-->type temp-->press enter --> delete everything you can.

Repeat step 3, 4and 5 at least once in a month.

Defragment yourC:\ drive (or the drive where Windows is installed) and schedule
a periodicdefragmentation.

Right click on theC:\ drive --> Properties --> Disk Cleanup. Repeat this for
Cleanup SystemFiles.

Install a registrycleaner (I use Argente Registry Cleaner) and clean the
registry.

Install a registrydefragmenter (I use Free Registry Defrag from Registry Clean
Expert    ) and defragment the registry.

NEVER installanything FREE (doesn't apply to open source software though),
especially thosewhich claim to 'speed up your PC' without knowing what you are
doing.

Reset your browserto default settings and disable all add-ons/ extensions/
toolbars which youdon't need. If you are having a tough time doing these,
simply uninstall thebrowser completely and reinstall it.

Install RevoUninstaller Pro (I am using a crack version). Perform all
futureuninstallations using this.

Increase thepagefile size, keep it at 1.5 times of the system RAM.

Hardware Part:-

As you are using a64 bit OS, try increasing the RAM. Buy new RAM sticks of
higher capacity ifavailable.

Replace your harddisk with an SSD.

Try to keep your machine cool. Remove unwanted plastics/covers and let it
breathe freely. Consider buying a cooling pad.
