Most respected Mr Rajaram Krishnamurthy,
Where as you have full right to respond anything published in the internet,
once you respond in negation,  there will surely counter by the person posted
or many others.A few can be supportive to you also.

I see you are addressing  many and also to many groups. In the recent past I
have not seen any of them respond with respect to my postings.

There are many members like Sri Markandeyalu, Sri Sridharan, Sri Srivasan etc,
who eagerly expect my QA and postings.

Mr A P S Mani  writes to me in negation and abusing language about my postings
in iyer 123 group. I have asked him to respond through the groups, which he is
not ready. Still I am not clear what purpose he achieve by doing so.

All members refrain from making any response to your points. Why waste your
energy?

You may make any number of postings, If I recollect I have only made positive
response to ones which I have impressed. I have never wrote anything negative
about your postings.

There must not be mutual abusing and fault finding posts. You have your way and
I have my way.

I will be happy if you stop responding to my posts  in negation which will
create a smooth atmosphere. It is my request . I hope you will consider it in
good spirit.

Sincerely,
Gopalakrishnan

Q1         What arethe benefits of porting from BSNL to MTNL?

KR       ARE WE DISCUSSING AT HOME SIR? WHAT ISTHE Q AND WHAT IS THE ANSWER? IS
THERE ANY BENEFIT? MAY BE A NO BENEFITQUESTION AND ANSWER.

Q3         Who isthe most badass person in history that no one knows about?

KR:         1   Afamous young girl we forgot really in history because that is
the question:

In the first half of the fifteenth century, France wasdemoralized after a
string of humiliating defeats at the hands of the Englishduring the Hundred
Years War. The victorious English were rampaging through theFrench countryside,
and the French throne was in dispute between the FrenchDauphin, or heir to
throne, and the English king, Henry IV.

To France’s rescue came an incongruous savior: a teenagegirl with no military
experience. Joan of Arc (1412 – 1431) appeared seeminglyout of the blue, and by
the time her brief life was over, she had becomeFrance’s national heroine, and
history’s most famous female warrior. She ledFrench armies into battle, and
terrified the English by winning a series ofmiraculous victories against them,
fighting in the front ranks. She restoredFrench morale, revived France’s
national spirit, and turned the tide of thewar.

Joan was born into a peasant family, and was passionatelyreligious from an
early age. She began seeing visions from saints, who told herto save her
country from English domination. So she left home at age 16, andtravelled to
join the Dauphin. In 1429, she convinced the French heir to giveher an army,
which she took to relieve French forces besieged by the English atOrleans.
There, she led her forces in a whirlwind campaign that broke the siegein nine
days, and sent the English fleeing. It was a turning point victory, which ended
an English drive to conquer France.

Following her victory at Orleans, Joan convinced theDauphin to crown himself
king of France. She then set out on a variety ofmilitary expeditions, always
leading from the front. In one such expedition in1430, she was thrown off her
horse and captured by Burgundians. Her captorskept her for several months,
while negotiating with the English, who were eagerto get their hands on the
teenage girl who had terrified them so much.

Despite having saved her country, the French king didlittle to try and ransom
Joan, and when she was sold to the English, she wasabandoned to fend for
herself. The English charged her with witchcraft andheresy, and set out to
break her spirit and will by locking her in a dark anddirty cell. Despite
incessant harassment and prolonged interrogations day andnight, Joan refused to
confess to wrongdoing.

Unable to extract a confession, or to prove witchcraft orheresy, Joan’s
accusers switched their focus to the male garb she wore inbattle. They argued
that such cross dressing went against the Bible, andconvicted her of that. At
age 19, Joan of Arc was placed on a cart and taken toan execution site in
Rouen, where she was burned at the stake on May 30th,1431.

Decades later, a Pope ordered a re-examination of hertrial. The re-examination
cleared her posthumously, and declared her a martyr. In 1803, Joan was made a
national symbol of France Napoleon Bonaparte. She wasbeatified five centuries
after death, in 1909, and canonized as a saint in1920. Today, Saint Joan of Arc
is one of the patron saints of France, and themost famous female warrior of all
time. {Really a badass is it not?)

2      Many in Indian History but forgotten:

1)Keladi Chenamma: The Queen Who ChallengedAurangzeb

Rani Chenamma ruled the small kingdom of Keladi inKarnataka for 25 years from
1671 to 1696 CE. She is best remembered for herquixotic act of sheltering the
fugitive Maratha king Rajaram, the great Marathaking Shivaji Bhonsle’s son and
facing the wrath of the Mughal emperorAurangzeb. The Portuguese called her the
Reuna de Pimenta, or the pepper queenfor her efforts in conducting trade in
pepper.

2) Rudrama Devi: The Princess Who Became APrince

Rudrama Devi, or Rudradeva Maharaja, ruled Orugallu orpresent-day Warangal in
the 13th century for 40 years and presided over thegolden age of the Kakatiyas.
She is the only independent female ruler mentionedby Marco Polo in his journey
across the world. He was, however, mistaken inthinking that she was a widow of
the previous king. In truth, her fatherGanapata Deva chose her as his heir over
other male members of his extendedfamily for her bravery and valour. Her
official portraits always showed her inmale clothing and went to public
meetings dressed as a man.  Given themale name Rudradeva, she was always
referred to as in the masculine by thatname.

3) The Heroines Of Chittor: The Queens WhoRefused To Commit Sati

More often, popular tales about Rajput Women see themimmortalized in history
either as defending their honour, or making enormoussacrifices for the men. But
women like Jawahirbai and Mirabai, daughters-in-lawand granddaughters-in-law of
Rana Raimal of Chittor were different. They wereall women who flouted the norm
of the day by choosing not to commit Sati, andcame into prominence after
choosing to become widows.

4) The Begums Of Bhopal: The Queens Who RuledFor A Hundred Years

The principality of Bhopal is an outlier of sorts inIndian history, being the
only kingdom which was ruled by four women rulers insuccession for more than a
century. The rule started with Qudsia Begum, andcontinued, while dynasties
around them continued to be destroyed. Their ableand inclusive rule,
highlighted by effective decision making, helped make thekingdom of Bhopal an
earliest prototype of the concept of welfare state

5) Rani Karnavati Of  Garhwal: TheQueen Who Chopped Off Noses

This Queen of Gharwal was referred to as ‘nak-katirani’ or queen who cut off
noses, by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan andmany Mughal chroniclers like Niccolao
Manucci and Francois Bernier after a veryinfamous episode. Historical records
show that a Mughal force sent to invadeher kingdom was decisively defeated by
her and sent back after their noses werechopped off! The regent also became a
beacon of resistance for small kingdomsin Mughal India, inspiring them to
preserve their kingdoms from invasionagainst the mighty Mughals.

6) Velu Nachiyar: The Queen Who Took Down TheBritish 85 years Before 1857

Veeramangar (brave woman) Velu Nachiyar (r. 1780-90 CE)was the Queen of
Sivaganga in Tamil Nadu. The little known queen is hailed asthe first woman
freedom fighter against the British in1770s, predating thekannadika Chennamma
of Kittur in the 1820s and the much celebrated Rani ofJhansi. She spoke 10
languages and knew many martial arts including swordfighting, archery, adi
murai and varma kalai.

When Sivaganga fell to the British and her husband wasmurdered, the queen
managed to escape with her baby, and promised to reclaimher kingdom someday.
With the help of another woman warrior – Kyuli whosacrificed her life by
becoming a suicide bomber – the queen managed to finallytake her kingdom back
from the British. In 2014, the then Chief Minister ofTamil Nadu Jayalalithaa
inaugurated the Veeramangai Velu Nachiyar Memorial inSivaganga and declared
that 3rd January be celebrated as the queen’s birthanniversary in her honour.

7) Ahilya Bai Holkar: The Philosopher Queen

Referred to as the Philosopher queen, Ahilya Bai’s (1725-1795) rule of over 30
years over Indore is considered by one of the best reignsin the country, by any
man or woman. Practicing a very modern way ofgovernance, with an emphasis on
providing physical and institutionalinfrastructure, moderate taxation and
individual property rights, Indore sawitself growing into a great mercantile
centre under her rule.

8) Kittur Chennamma: The Queen Who ChallengedThe British

Kittur Chennamma(1778-1829), the Queen of Kittur( inpresent Karnataka), was one
of the earliest Indian queens to lead an armedrebelllion against the British
East India Company, in defiance of the doctrineof lapse.

Defeated in the third war, her rebellion against theBritish ended with her
imprisonment. However, she became a celebrated freedomfighter in the state of
Karnataka and a symbol of the independence movement inIndia. Since 1824,
‘Kittur Utsava’ has been organised every year in the monthof October to
celebrate her heroic rebellion!

9) Rani Tarabai: The Empire Builder

Tarabai, the Maratha Queen ( r 1700-61 CE) is regarded bysome as one of the
most important reasons for the breaking up of the Mughalempire after
Aurangzeb’s death. She prevented the Maratha Confederacy fromdisintegrating
when all of its forts were in the hands of the Mughals. TheQueen, not only
survived the Mughal onslaught, but also carried the battle intotheir territory,
raiding Mughal territory and creating permanent outposts inthem, with the
result that Marathas controlled half the Mughal territory beforethey were
effectively ousted by the British.

10) The Bhaumakara Queens: The Mahadevis OfOdisha

Odisha witnessed 100 years of able and just rule by sixMahadevi queens of the
Bhaumakara dynasty. There are few references to them inancient works of history
or literature, except for a brief mention in an Arabicbook on world geography.
One of the most powerful among them was TribhuvanaMahadevi who rose to power
despite rebellions by feudal kings of coastal-centralparts of erstwhile
Tri-Kalinga region. Under the Mahadevi, women in the kingdomwere educated and
were also given special powers and administrative rights toissue land grants
and charters. She commanded a standing army of 3,00,000 menand under her
leadership, she suppressed many internal rebellions and threatsfrom enemy
forces of the Rashtrakutas and Palas.

11) The Attingal Queens: The Matriarchs OfTravancore

Kerala has a special identity in India as pennu-malayalam orthe kingdom of
women. Umayamma Rani( r16744-84 CE) was one of a long line ofAttingal queens,
the mothers of the kings of Travancore, but who ruled their ownterritory of
Attingal for more than 400 years. The Dutch administrator vanRheede was struck
by her ‘noble and manly conduct’, describing her as an Amazonwho was ‘feared
and respected by everyone’ when he met her in the 1600s. Shewas also the young
queen known to even make ‘the king fly before her’, and asshe grew older, her
nerve only grew stronger.

While sexual freedoms were mostly permitted to men aroundthe world, the Rani,
history records, took ‘whom and as many as she pleases tothe honour of her
bed’. What is unfortunate, though, is that down thecenturies, with only a few
personal names have survived of the queens of Attingal.

Q1         What are the benefits ofporting from BSNL to MTNL?

A1         Gopala Krishnan, FormerAsst General Manager, Retired at Bharat
Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL)Just now.

I have retired from B S N L. M T N L is the re-name given to B S N L atMumbai,
with slightly different rulings suited to the big city. When one lives,or
change residence/office to Mumbai he becomes customer of M T N L.

When I attended an advance technology meet of combined B S N L and M T NL, I
could note the differences in procedures and rulings of M T N L.

I have retired from B S N L in2004. More than 18 years have passed, there might
have more changes.

Q2         Is it possible toactivate a new SIM card without visiting the
nearest BSNL office?

A2         Purushottam Kumar, AssistantProfessor at Educational Institutions
(2009–present) 8mo

Yes.

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has decided to allow SIM replacementthrough
retailers all over India. As per the latest information, BSNL mobileusers can
avail duplicate SIM for your damaged / lost SIM cards from yournearest BSNL
retailer very soon. With this latest development, all BSNL mobile users can
easily upgradetheir existing SIM card to BSNL 4G SIM card without visiting BSNL
CustomerService Centre or BSNL Office.

At present BSNL mobile users can avail duplicate SIM card only from
BSNLCustomer Service Centres (BSNL CSCs) and BSNL Franchisee Offices. Most of
themobile users are facing difficulties for their movement and travel during
thesepandemic periods, BSNL hasdecided to extend the facility to its retailers
whereby hardships faced bycustomers can be minimised to a great extent.

BSNL’s field units / telecom circles have been regularly requesting for
supplyingSIM replacement facility to retailers citing the inconvenience faced
bysubscribers for lost / damaged / faulty SIM. An Official statement from
BSNLregarding extending the SIM replacement facility to retailers read as
follows:-

Ease the process, for the convenience of subscribers, approval ofcompetent
authority is hereby conveyed for the following: -

Franchisees shall be allowed tochoose the retailers to do SIM replacement and
route the approval of replacement to concerned BSNL CSC through theconcerned
Franchisee.

As Franchisees manages the retailers, Franchisees shall own theresponsibility
and accountable for their actions.

Telecom Circles must ensurethere shall be no irregularities in SIM replacement
through retailers selectedby the franchisees.

BSNL corporate office has also directed its IT Project Circle (ITPC) tomake
necessary provision in Sanchar Soft / Sanchar-Aadhar applications for
SIMreplacement through retailers selected by franchisees. The facility will
beprovided through Sanchar Aadhar mobile application which is used by
BSNLretailers to on-board new prepaid mobile customers.

BSNL SIM Replacement Procedure

Get duplicate SIM card, acustomer needs to give his original ID proof along
with request for SIM replacementat nearest BSNL Customer Service Centre (BSNL
CSC) or BSNL Franchisee Office orAuthorised BSNL Retailers.

How can an employee avail SIM replacement / SIM swap, if it is in thecompany’s
name?

If your mobile connection istaken in the name of your company, to get duplicate
SIM card you need to givean authorization letter in company letter head from
concerned authorities along with the ID card of the employee whouses the mobile
connection.

My note- As early as 2006, I gotthe SIM card of BSNL from anearest retailer
only. On those days franchisees were not there. Due to mass voluntaryretirement
scheme introduced recently, in many fields a shortage of staff isthere in BSNL.
This could be one reason, extending SIM replacement to franchisees. I had
myBSNL prepaid mobile lost on way, I got the replacement of SIM from
nearestcustomer care centre 4 years ago.

I had my land line provided with Bharat fibre recently, it was done by
afranchisee.

Q3         Who is the most badassperson in history that no one knows about?

A3         Tanay Chakraborty, AFollower of War History Updated 1y.

Not in history, I amnaming one of the most badass ladies who is living now.

Rukhsana Kausar

She was 20 when three Lashkar-e-Taiba (Let) terrorists barged into her house in
a remotevillage in Rajouri district (Jammu and Kashmir) and started mercilessly
beating up her family members.

They beat up on her relatives for refusing to hand her up to them. Unableto
take it anymore, shecharged at them with an axe snatching the LeT commander's
(Abu Osama's) AK-47and shooting him dead. Retrieving another rifle, she and her
brotherfired on the other militants, forcing them to flee. When this happened
in 2009,she was only 20 years old.

Posted as a police constable inher hometown in Rajouri (Jammu and Kashmir), the
Kirti Chakra recipientcontinues to be a role model for many.

Q4         What is the harsh truthof life?

A4         Gopal Gupta, Dec 23

A few days ago, I was travelling from West Bengal to New Delhi by trainin
Sleeper class.

I saw many hawkers, but this old man drew my attention. He was sellingAligarh’s
locks (famous for lock industries). And few people had started bargaining but
this old manstuck to the price quoted.

I was surprised to see as to why they were bargaining, after a fewminutes he
stood in front of me. I was shocked to see him as “he was blind”.

After a few minutes, I bought a lock from him without any bargaining notbecause
he was blind and old, but he really inspired me.

Why?

Nowadays, we give up so easily, sometimes we cry for some girl who leftus, or
we cry because we are not that good looking and sometimes because no oneis
supporting us etc. And these thoughts become part of our life and
eventuallyruin everything.

Just look at that old man, he could resort to some other ways to earnmoney like
begging because we notice many young people with disabilities startbegging in
public areas to support their livelihood. But this man chose the correct way to
support hislife.

Beside us, a UP police constable was sitting, and he said that this manis
working from the last 10 to 15 years constantly.

Q5         Why is Kedar Nath called(Jagrut) Jagrit Mahadev?

A5         Surendra Kumar Kumawat, Apr7

So that's why Kedar Nath Dhamis called Awakened Mahadev...

This two-minute story will giveyou goosebumps.

Once a Shiva-devotee went on a pilgrimage to Kedar Nath Dham from his
village.Earlier there were no transport facilities, he left on foot. Whoever
met on theway would have asked the way to Kedar Nath. He used to meditate on
Lord Shivain his mind. Months passed by while he was walking. Finally, one day
he reached Kedar Dham. The doors of the temple in Kedar Nath open for 6 months
and remain closed for 6months. He reached at thetime when the doors of the
temple were closing. He told Pandit ji that he hadcome from far away after
traveling for months. Prayed to Pandit ji - Pleaseopen the doors and give me
the darshan of the Lord. But there is arule that once it is closed it is
closed. Rules are rules. He cried a lot.Repeatedly remembered Lord Shiva that
Lord gives me darshan just once. He waspraying to everyone, but no one listened.

Pandit ji said, now come hereafter 6 months, after 6 months the doors will open
here. Here there is snow andfrost for 6 months. And allthe people left from
there. He kept on crying there. Night started to fallwhile crying and it became
dark all around. But he had faith in his Shiva thathe would surely bless him.

He was also feeling very hungry and thirsty. He heard someone coming. Saw a
Sanyasi Baba comingtowards him. That Sanyasi Baba came to him and sat beside
him. Asked - Son,where have you come from? Baba Ji explained to him and gave
him food. And thenBaba kept talking to him for a long time. Baba ji felt pity
on him. He said,Son, I think the temple will open in the morning. You will see.

Don't know when this devotee fell asleep while talking. The devotee'seyes
opened with the dim light of the sun. He looked here and there for Baba, but he
was nowhere. Beforehe could understand anything, he saw Pandit ji coming with
his entirecongregation.

He bowed down to the Pandit and said - yesterday you had said that thetemple
will open after 6 months? And meanwhile no one will come here, but youcame in
the morning itself. Pandit ji looked at him carefully, tried to showhim and
asked - are you the one who came when the temple door was closed? Theones I met
Came back after 6 months! The man said with surprise -No, I didn't go anywhere.
I had met you only yesterday, I had slept here atnight. I did not go anywhere.
There was no place for Pandit ji's surprise.

He said - But I had gone after closing the temple 6 months ago and todayI have
come after 6 months. How can you survive here for six months? Pandit jiand the
whole congregation were surprised. How can a single person survivefor six
months in such a cold?

Then that devotee told him about meeting Sanyasi Baba and all the thingsthat
happened with him. That a sannyasin had come - he was tall, had longcoiffures,
trisula in one hand and damru in the other, was wearing an antelope.Pandit ji
and everyone fell at his feet. Said, I have spentmy life but could not get the
darshan of the Lord, you are the true devotee.

You have seen Lord Shiva. He only converted your 6 months into one nightwith
his Yoga-Maya. Shortened the time. All this happened because of your pure mind,
your devotion andfaith. Salutations to yourdevotion Kedar Nath Jyotirlinga
Divine and Rare Darshan DE Bhoomi, Uttarakhand!

Q6         How influential can anIAS officer be, in society?

A6         Abhishek Anand, Directorat Abundant Life Foundation (2020–present)7mo

A lot!

I will share an anecdote, there was a district in Bihar where the parents
didn't allow the kidsto have the meal offered to them under the mid-day meal
scheme as it was cookedby a widow.

The DM Rahul Kumar got to know ofthis incident and visited the school, he even
ate the food that was cooked bythe same widow and thus he made it to the
national media.

After this, the parents were convinced, and they sent their kids toschool for
the same meal.

Yes, it is unfortunate that things like this happen even today, but you can see
how influentialan IAS officer or for that matter, anyone holding authority can
be. It'stotally up to the person.

I admire DM Rahul Kumar a lot because of his calm attitude and sincerityin
administrative work.

My note- Such incidents may not be much important to southern states, butvery
important to North India.

Q7         What is your biggestachievement in life?

A7         Avinash Kumar Mehta, IITBombay (PhD), IIT Kharagpur (M. Tech.), AIR
60(GATE'17) Updated 2y.

I belong to that area ofJharkhand (India) where almost 99.9% can’t
differentiate between IIT and ITI.

Show my achievement, I will show you my 10-year challenge of what I hadand what
I have now. For this, I will be sharing some background details. sothat you can
just compare between me (10 years ago) and me (today)……

Note: I used to take animals for feeding rather than going to school.

One day, my stomach started painingbadly. I took local treatment (12 km from my
home), but thedoctor (after trying several medicines) asked us to go to the
city (case ofemergency). My parentstook me to the city for treatment (got
appendicitis). After operation andrecovery, I came back to the village. But
what I saw during one week'sstay in that city, was not going from my mind. I
used to become happy wheneverI remembered about the facilities they had.
Curiously, I asked my father. Howcan I go there forever? He smiled at me and
said: not forever, but if you score good marks in 10th,I can send you to study
further (My happiness had no limit).

Now, I had an aim that I must go to that city and for this, I must study
extremelyhard to get first division (criteria decided by father).

But I had no one to guide. No one tells me what to do. I tried and triedand
tried. And did whatever I could. Finally, after the 10th result, I got 70% (on
state board).

I was the topper in my school (at most went to school 10 times a year). The
principal came along with one teacher to congratulate me and then newsspread
that someone’s son has done very well, and the headmaster came to
congratulate(first time in my village).

And from that time to now. Timehas changed and it has changed me too. This is
me now (in IIT Kharagpur).

B. Tech. (BIT Sandri- one of the famous government engineering collegesof all
time in Jharkhand) (2013–2017). GATE- AIR-60′17. M. Tech.- IIT
Kharagpur(2017–2019). Ph. D.- IIT Bombay (2019- till now) and will continue……

Part-time work- Now, I instruct children of my village duringvacations and till
now Ihave taught four engineers (including me) in my village compared to none
in thenearest 5 villages (10 years ago). It also helped one to achieve 3rdRank
in the state (district topper) in the 10th class.

Now it depends on you whetheryou consider it as an achievement or not, but I do.

Q8         What are some obvioustruths that are rarely acknowledged?

A8         HaLiMa, Lives in TheUnited States of America (2004–present) Apr 21

I read somewhere that lovecomes to you when you are not ready for it and leaves
when you need it the most.

My mom always tells me that people will question the good things theyhear about
you and willbelieve the bad ones without a second thought.

Talents can be wasted.    Mostjokes point towards the bitter truths.
Sometimes we can’t see the whole picture.

Tears are words that the mouthcan't say, and the heart can't express.

When someone is sweet to you, don't expect them to stay like that foreversince
after all the sweetest chocolates expire.

Lastly life needs both: day andnight; happiness and unhappiness; rain and sun;
light and darkness.

Q9         Humor: What are some ofthe greatest examples of presence of mind?

A9         Shubham Agrawal, Studiedat Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi6y

The scenario in IIT-D is like this:

Even the professors do not haveany problems with them teaching with a dog
sleeping in front of them. So, thescene goes like this:

1st year Class: COL 100 Professor:Prem Kalra

As there are two doors for exit, some students used to escape awayquickly as
soon as the professor turned around (towards the board); obviouslyafter marking
the attendance. One day, a guy got up and was silently walking towards exit but
somehowprofessor saw him. Then the reply by the professor was epic:

“PLEASE SIT DOWN. ONLY DOGS CAN ENTER AND LEAVE THE CLASSROOM ACCORDINGTO THEIR
WILL, NOT STUDENTS”

The entire class burst intolaughter and the student was dumbstruck.

I was walking down the streetsof Gujarat when I saw an old Lady selling Khakra
and Chips for ₹10.

I suggested “Why don’t you also start selling Chai? People would love tohave it
along with Khakra and you can increase your products and sales!”

Sounded brilliant to me! That’s what I had learned in my college “Earnmoney
from various sources”.

She told me “Bhaiya, mere baajuMei ek Chai wala hai. Agar mai chai bechungi toh
wo kya krega?! Uska pura gharbas Chai ke bharose chalta hai!!

(There is a man who sells tea beside me. If I start selling it, what willhe
sell? His whole family depends on it!)

I was dumbstruck!!

Today, I learned that it is not a market, where people think: Let mestart this
business, extend my brand to multiple products and capture a highermarket share!

These guys know that to Co-exist you need to fulfil everyone’s needs andnot be
