Q1         What is an “Only in Japan” moment?

A1         Magpie, Knows Japanese20h

I was traveling toRishikesh from Delhi few months back and it is my habit to
arrive early atairport and eat the tasty food at the airport lounge and wait
for the flight. Iwas comfortably sitting and was waiting for the time to pass,
I noticed amiddle aged women came right in front of my seat and was preparing
to settledown. I saw a redpassport and figured out she was a Japanese.

I was enthusiasticand wanted to start a conversation with her as I am learning
Japanese. When shesettled down, hesitantly I asked her "Sumimasen, Nihonjin des
ne"(Excuse me, you are a Japanese right). She replied "Yes" happily andshe came
and sat on the seat beside me.

Then we continuedtalking a talk in our broken Japanese and English and using
translator for 1hour maybe. Then I toldher that I am going to Rishikesh for
learning Yoga and next what she did wasextremely warm and heart touching.

She opened herpurse, pulled out a 5 yen Japanese coin and gave it to me.

She wished me goodluck for my yoga class and gave that coin as a sign of good
relationship.

Later I came to know that Japanesepeople usually offer 5 yen coin at shrines
and it is considered pious. It wassuch a nice gesture..!!!

Q2         What are the secrets of Jagannathtemple which are beyond the
understanding of scientists?

A2         Surendra Kumar Kumawat,Apr 10

There are some suchsecrets of Jagannath temple which are beyond the
understanding of even science.(must read)

This temple locatedin Puri (Odisha) is one of the four dhams of Hinduism.

Jagannath is theform of Shri Krishna. He is seated in Puri with his brother
Balabhadra (Balram)and sister (Subhadra).

Temple of Shadow :- No matter what time of theday it is, this grand temple of
Shri Jagannath ji does not cast any shadow. Yes, Jagannath templedoes not cast
a shadow!

Some attribute it to divine power while others claim thatthis phenomenon is due
to the magnificent architecture of the Jagannath Temple.

Mahabhog

When food is prepared for God and it is enjoyed. Tillthen there is no smell in
the food. But when it is received by the Tridevas andtaken to the devotees, the
Mahaprasad starts emanating divine fragrance.

Shri Vishnu takesfood in Puri Dham. That is why Mahabhog is very important. The
number ofdevotees in the temple varies from a few thousand to one lakh. The
surprisingthing is that whatever may be the number of devotees, the amount of
Prasad isaccurate, it never falls short and never goes waste.

My note- It is just the opposite in Naga temples inKerala. After Naga worship
the payasam given to devotees has no fragrance. NagaBali is performed in Ameda
temple near Ernakulam in Kerala. The loss of fragrance  is more prominent here.

Geographical Wonder

Normally, seabreeze blows from sea to land in the morning and from land to sea
in theevening. But inJagannath Puri exactly the opposite happens.

The flag on top of the temple alwaysflies against the direction of the wind.
The reason forthis is beyond the understanding of even scientists.

The wonderful thing is that wherever you stand inPuri, you will see the
Sudarshan Chakra sitting on top of the temple facingyou.

The weight of the wheel is up to one ton. It isanother mystery that how such a
heavy and huge wheel was installed at such aheight in ancient times when no
machinery was available.

Simhadwaram is the main entrance to the temple. When youenter from Simhadwaram,
you can clearly hear the sound of the waves. But as soon as you cross the
Sinhadwaram and enter the temple, you will nothear the sound of the waves at
all.

Soundproof technology? or a miracle?

The miracles of thetemple do not end here.

There are manyother things which are completely beyond science and human
understanding. If these are not divinepowers then what are they?

Do visit Puri onceto feel this divinity.Jai Jagannath Mahaprabhu.Jai Shri
Ram.Hare Krishna

Q6         How do I change my Airtel postpaid toprepaid?

A6         Kunal Singh, Director (2017–present)5y

Simple steps:-

Clear youroutstanding post-paid bill for the current month.

Carry all yourdocuments like (PAN/Voter ID, Adhaar card).

Reach out a Airteloutlet. (you can locate one in the Airtel app or airtel.in)

Show them thepayment receipt of the post-paid bill and request to migrate it to
prepaid.

After allformalities, they will give you a new sim and you can start using it
afteractivation. (Activation usually takes 3–6 hours).

Keep in mind:

Post paid are forpeople who are involved in a business or a job where frequent
calling is neededor a person who makes 50+ calls per day. Or you are too rich
to worry about apost-paid bill. Post-paid connections can become hectic at
times.

My note- I donot agree to this point. I was initially having single airtel
prepaidSIM before 16 years. BSNLwas in high demand. There was an announcement
it can be made post-paid. I felt it was advantageous to make overseas call to
my son and daughterfor prolonged time.  But alas, I found post- paid has no ISD
facility. I contacted airtel and paid an advance for ISD facility and got it.

Later their onefamily one bill announcement came, I  attachedmy notepad SIM, a
connection to my son which will work on arriving in Indiaautomatically, and
later an internetbox. It helps me to make on line payments assuring power
disconnection will notaffect the payment and emergency usage when power is not
there. ( I haveUPS supply in one plug point, and use it when Laptop battery
power hasexhausted and urgent work is there. I get a combined bill for ,which
amounts to 1500-00 roughly. No botheration of on line recharge.BSNL connection
I got later is kept prepaid.

Disadvantages:

Will costmore while national roaming, and much more in international
roaming. You need to pay themonthly rental, which usually starts with
300/month(exc. of taxes) even if youdid not make a single call all month.

Some of theinternet provider never notify you when you cross your monthly data
limit ofyour pack and they start charging you like 10p/10kb and you will get to
knowthis at the billing date.

If youmistakenly miss a single due date, get ready to get your outgoing first
andthen incoming calls barred.

Conclusion!Prepaid is the best. No call barring issues, No overlappingdata
usage, No such drama. Recharge & use as at!

Q7         What is one heart warming gesture yourecently witnessed?

A7         Shweta Singh, Software Engineer10mo

Indore based techieAditya Tiwari once went to orphanage to distribute sweets.

There he sawAvnish, a little boy who was the only one who hadn't been adopted
due to downsyndrome, weak eyesight, 2 holes in heart, problem in knees.

Authorities werelooking for foreign adoption since they are less discriminative
against specialchild.

Aditya decidedto adopt this little baby boy with the help of Madhya Pradesh
welfare minister.

When he adopted this child, people judged him because hewas then 26 yr old
unmarried. He was judged to be incapable of fathering achild or having this
baby outside wedlock.

Aditya preparedhimself by joining national network of parents with Down's
syndrome children just to get education on specialchild's needs.

At present, one of the holes of Avnish heart has beenhealed, he has learnt to
walk without support. Aditya got married just after 1year of adoption.

They even trekkedto the Himalayas and hoisted the Indian flag at height of 5500
metres fromEverest Base Camp.

I really admirepeople like Aditya who goes beyond societal norms just to make
this world abeautiful place for kids like Avnish.

Such men in societyneeds to be appreciated and encouraged. My heart is giving
him all the goodblessings and wishes.

Q8         Who played the role of elder brother inthe marriage of Lord Shiva
and Mother Parvati?

A8         Surendra Kumar Kumawat,5h

Lord Vishnu playedthe role of elder brother in the marriage of Shiva Shakti.

Mother Parvati made Lord Vishnu her elder brother.

Lord Narayan, themost beloved of the trinity, is the sustainer of the universe.
It is believedthat whenever the burden of unrighteousness increases on the
earth, thenNarayan comes to the earth. Once the demons created such terror that
LordVishnu himself, the protector of the world, was unable to protect the earth
fromthem. The meeting of Mother Parvati and Shiva was very necessary for
thekilling of the said demon and for the protection of the universe.
Tadkasur'skilling was possible only by the children of Shiva and Shakti, so all
the godsetc. wanted that the marriage of Devadhidev Mahadev and Mother Parvati
shouldbe completed soon, but Mahadev decided to stay in the samadhi away from
thenoise of the world in the far away caves. had decided. Therefore, the
deitiesthemselves had to cooperate with destiny for the union of Shiva and
Shakti.

Mother Parvati's penance

Mother Parvati wasdoing penance while consuming the leaves of the Bilva tree.
There came a stagein penance when mother had to worship Shivling to get Lord
Shiva, but mothercould not think of any solution for this.

Narad Muni's arrival.

Seeing Mata Parvatiworried, Narad Muni came to Mata Parvati and said, 'O Devi',
the expressions ofworry are clearly visible on your face, tell me what is the
problem? Respondingto Muni's words, Mother Parvati said, "O Devarshi, remove my
worries. Youare omniscient. I have to worship the Shivling, from where can I
get theShivling of God?

Method of Parthiv Shivling

After listening toMother Parvati, Devarshi Narad said, “O Goddess, why are you
worried? Build anearthly Shivling using clay and prove your worship etc. by
anointing it etc.Saying this he disappeared.

Mother's failure in making Shivling

Mother had nevermade Shivling, so she was failing repeatedly in trying to make
Shivling fromdry soil. Seeing her in this condition, Narayan assumed the form
of a Brahmin and reached thatplace to help Parvati.

Coming of Lord Vishnu

Lord Vishnu toldGoddess Parvati, O Goddess, you are looking worried. Hearing
this, the goddessreplied, 'O brother', since long I have been trying to build a
Shiva Linga, butI am not able to do this great work.

Shivling made by Vishnu

Shri Hari becameemotional after hearing the words of brotherhood from the mouth
of MotherParvati and tears fell from his eyes on that soil, due to which that
soilbecame wet. Now God, being the elder brother of Mother Parvati, made a
ParthivShivling from that soil for her.

Later Lord Vishnuhimself played the role of elder brother of Mother Parvati in
the marriage ofShivshakti.Om Vishnave Namah:

Q9         Who is the most badass person inhistory that no one knows about?

A9         Lindsay Elizabeth, Cynical idealist. Updated2y

As everything was going to shit, Charles Joughin wasremarkably calm.

When the RMSTitanic hit an iceberg on April 14, 1912, even the ship’s staff was
in a stateof panic. No one stepped up to the plate to take charge. In fact,
most of thestaff were running around just as frantically as the passengers.

So, our boyCharles stepped in.

Charles was headbaker and fittingly, his first order of business was sending
loaves of bread tothe lifeboats so people would have food to last until they
were rescued.

He continued by helping others onto their boats until hereached his own. Only
instead of hopping on, he forced a group of women andchildren on, saving their
lives.

The icy waterfilled the ship quickly and Charles was fully aware that his
chance of survivalwas slim at best, so he did what any person would do: get
drunk out of theirmind.

He went to his cabin and got as much whiskey as he could. On his way, he threw
chairs into the ocean for people to use as flotationdevices.

And then hejumped off the ship, into the freezing water. He spent hours in the
unforgivingAtlantic ocean.

Most died in minutes.

The alcoholcoursing through his body fought off the cold and kept him
alive.“Iwas just paddling and treading water,” he said.

As dawn broke, he found a lifeboat and swam towards it,only to find that there
was no space for him.

Luckily, another nearby boat had room and he managed toclimb on.They were
rescued soon after and there was no illness or injury to even provehe’d been in
the water.

Charles would goon to join the Navy and died at 78, living a full life thanks
to some whiskey.
