Q1         Whatare some interesting facts about ocean?

A1          Krishna Kamat,12h

The Ocean is home to 94% of all life on earth.

According toresearch, life started in the ocean around 3.5 million years ago.

The largest animal ever to live on Earth is an ocean mammalcalled the blue
whale.

The Ocean is hometo the world's largest living structure (The Great Barrier
Reef off the coastof Australia)

90% of all the volcanic activity on the planet happensin the ocean.

Human beings haveonly explored 5% of the ocean. We know more about the surface
of the moon thanthe floor of the ocean.

ThePacific Ocean is the world’s largest ocean and contains around 25,000
islands.

ThePacific Ocean is wider than the moon.

Q2         Whydo planes tilt up when taking off?

A2          Erika Fernandez, Experience inAviation Field Tue

Planestilt up when taking off for a simple reason: to generate more lift and
overcomegravity.Lift is the force that keeps the plane in the air, and it
depends on the shape, angle, and speed of the wings. By tilting up the nose of
the plane, the pilot increases the angle ofattack of the wings, which creates
more lift and allows the plane to climbfaster.

To understand howthis works, let’s review some basic concepts of aerodynamics:

Lift is the force that acts perpendicular to the directionof the airflow around
the wing. Lift is generated by the difference in airpressure above and below
the wing. The air abovethe wing moves faster than the air below the wing,
creating a lower pressureabove and a higher pressure below. This pushes the
wing up and createslift.

Drag is the force that acts opposite to the directionof the airflow around the
wing. Drag is caused by the friction and turbulenceof the air as it flows over
and around the wing. Drag reduces the speed andefficiency of the plane.

Thrust is the force that propels the plane forward.Thrust is generated by the
engines, which can be jet engines, propellers, orrockets. Thrust overcomes drag
and maintains the speed of the plane.

Weight is the force that acts downward due to gravity.Weight is determined by
the mass of the plane and its contents. Weight opposes liftand pulls the plane
down.

Totake off, a plane needs to generate enough lift to overcome its weight
andenough thrust to overcome its drag. The pilot controls these forces
byadjusting the speed, angle, and shape of the wings.

The speed of the plane affects both lift and drag.As the speed increases, so
does lift and drag. The pilot needs to find anoptimal speed that maximizes lift
and minimizes drag. This speed is called thetake-off speed or rotation speed,
and it varies depending on the type, size, weight, and design of the plane.

The angle of attack of the wings affects both lift anddrag as well. As the
angle increases, so does lift and drag. The pilot needs to find an optimal angle
that maximizes lift and minimizesdrag. This angle is called the take-off angle
or climb angle, and it alsovaries depending on various factors.

The shape of the wings affects both lift and drag too.The pilot can change the
shape of the wings by using flaps and slats. Flaps aremovable panels on the
trailing edge of the wing that extend downward andbackward during take-off and
landing. Slats are movable panels on the leadingedge of the wing that extend
forward and downward during take-off and landing. Both flaps and slats increase
the surface area and curvature of the wing, whichincreases lift and drag.

By using these controls, the pilot can achieve a successfultake-off by
following these steps:

The pilotaccelerates along a runway until reaching take-off speed.

The pilot pullsback on a control stick or yoke to tilt up (pitch)the nose of
the plane.

The pilot usesailerons (movable panels on each wingtip) to keep the wings level
(roll) andrudder (a movable panel on the tail) to keep the plane aligned with
the runway(yaw).

The pilot usesflaps and slats to increase lift and drag, which helps the plane
to take off ata lower speed and climb at a steeper angle.

The pilot retractsthe landing gear (wheels) to reduce drag and weight.

The pilot retractsthe flaps and slats to reduce drag and increase speed.

The pilot adjusts the throttle (a lever that controls theengine power) to
maintain a constant climb speed and altitude.

Bytilting up the nose of the plane, the pilot can achieve a higher angle
ofattack and generate more lift. This allows theplane to take off faster and
climb higher, which is important for safety andefficiency reasons. However,
tilting up the nose too much canalso increase drag and reduce speed, which can
cause a stall (a sudden loss oflift). Therefore, the pilot needs to balance the
angle of attack with the speed and shape of thewings to optimize the take-off
performance.

I hope this answerhelps you understand why planes tilt up when taking off and
how pilots controlthe forces of flight. Takingoff is one of the most critical
phases of flight, and it requires skill andprecision from the pilot.

Q3         Howlong can a dog bark for?

A3          Animal Lover | Dog Lover | Cat Lover |Loving Husband1h

Dogs are known fortheir vocalizations, and barking is one of the most common
sounds they make. Barking can serveseveral purposes, including communication,
warning, and expression of emotion. In this article, we will discuss how long
dogs can bark for, what factorsinfluence their barking behaviour, and when
excessive barking may be a causefor concern.

How long can dogs bark for?

The length of timethat a dog can bark for depends on several factors, including
their breed, age,and temperament. In general, dogs can bark for several minutes
or longer, depending on the situation. Some dogs may bark continuously for
extended periods of time, whileothers may bark intermittently over a longer
period.

Factors that influence barking behaviour

There are severalfactors that can influence a dog's barking behaviour,
including:

Breed: Some dog breeds are more vocal thanothers and are more likely to bark.
For example, breeds such as beagles, bassethounds, and miniature schnauzers are
known for their vocalizations.

Age: Puppies and younger dogs may bark morefrequently as they are still
learning about their environment and developingtheir communication skills.

Temperament: A dog's temperament can also playa role in their barking
behaviour. For example, dogs that are anxious, fearful,or aggressive may bark
more frequently than dogs that are more relaxed andconfident.

Training: Proper training can help to reduce a dog'sbarking behaviour. Dogs
that have been trained to respond to commands such as"quiet" or "enough" are
more likely to stop barking whentold to do so.

When is excessive barking a causefor concern?

While barking is anormal behaviour for dogs, excessive barking can be a cause
for concern. Excessive barking can be a signof an underlying health or
behavioural issue, and it can also be a nuisance toneighbours and other people
in the vicinity.

If you notice that your dog is barking excessively, itis important to consult
with a veterinarian or animal behaviourist. They can help to diagnose and treat
any underlying health or behavioural issuesthat may be causing the behaviour.

Some common causes of excessive barking include:

Anxiety or fear: Dogs that are feeling anxious orfearful may bark excessively
as a way of coping with their emotions.

Boredom: Dogs that are bored or under-stimulatedmay bark as a way of seeking
attention or entertainment.

Separation anxiety: Dogs that are experiencingseparation anxiety may bark
excessively when left alone or when they sense thattheir owner is about to
leave.

Medical issues: Certain medical issues, such aspain or hearing loss, can cause
dogs to bark excessively.

Conclusion

In conclusion, dogscan bark for several minutes or longer, depending on the
situation and theirindividual characteristics. Factors that can influence
barking behaviourinclude breed, age, temperament, and training. While barking
is a normal behaviourfor dogs, excessive barking can be a cause for concern and
may be a sign of anunderlying health or behavioural issue. If you notice that
your dog is barkingexcessively, it is important to consult with a veterinarian
or animal behaviouristto determine the underlying cause of the behaviour and to
develop anappropriate treatment plan.
