Mr Rajaram,
Have you studied  really BSc. Physics  or your hurried nature made you to
respond like this?Really I am ashamed  that you are a former IRS officer.
Read once again what I wrote:-

My note- Theequation takes me to the nostalgic college days when I studied

Don't you know there is a section Light under Physics? Did  you  not write
final examination with all topics of Physics? Did  you not attended  practical
examination including all topics in the final year?
If at all you had semester system, still for practical did there no light topic?
If you required clarification You might have ask me.

I am sure you will beat around the bush and Mr APS Mani will send to me one to

Q1           Can twowaves have the same wavelength but different frequencies?
Can two waves havethe same frequency but different wavelengths?

G    My note- Theequation takes me to the nostalgic college days when I studied
“light”under  Physics during 1961-1964 andcalculation of wavelengths of beams
using spectrometer in the lab.

KR       second timehe is stating it and is there any college teaching Light
alone for 3 years inthe graduation?  Now the physics man isconfused.  The speed
of any periodic waveis the product of its wavelength and frequency. v = λf. The
speed of anyelectromagnetic waves in free space is the speed of light c = 3*108
m/s. Electromagnetic waves canhave any wavelength λ or frequency f as long as
λf = c. Now the lightspeed is the EM wave speed viz photon movements. Hence C
is always constantbeing  3*108 m/s; NowLambda is wave length, where photon is
doing wave pattern , not as particle.(Quantum Mechanics) In general yes, it is
possible. Since λ=C/f, any setof C and f with the same ratio will give the same
wavelength. e.g. the setC=1m/s and f=1s−1 as well as the set C=2m/s and f=2s−1
both give a wavelengthof 1m.  Now same wavelength can have samefrequency is
feasible ( I said feasible only though technically such handlingsare not done)
. FREQUENCY IS A SIMPLE TERM: PERSECOND HOW MANY TIMES THE SINECURVE
(WAVE)REPEATS. Now within a second sine curve can be slower making 5waves; it
can make 10 also faster; may be 30 also and can keep on producingspeed
variation is made. In the above example one wave per second and 2 wavesper sec
will have to be within the light speed that is all. That is inpercussions ewe
say, 8 beats, 4 by 8 beats 2 by 4 beats etc ; or playing inwhich column. Faster
can 8 beats be played as 16, 24,36 etc, by which theproducing of sound wave
will be heard as slow beats to faster beats. Thatmeans, in light speed, whether
slow beats within a second or fast beats withinthat second, are same to reach
your ears. WHAT IS BIG ABOUT IT? Radio frequencyis within 200 kilo hertz
(frequency is measured by hertz which you might see inthe brochure and  at the
back of themachine showing KILOHERTZ.) only.  98.3FM station is within 98.4 and
98.2; in that frequency on air the radio wave Isent per second, This is taught
not only in light , also in sound andmechanics.  I have also done and
taughtphysics to students with age difference of low frequency.

CULTURAL QA 06-2023-06

Q1           Cantwo waves have the same wavelength but different frequencies?
Can two waveshave the same frequency but different wavelengths?

A1           Info Sage, Professional Maven13h

Two waves can indeed have the same wavelength butdifferent frequencies.

Therelationship between wavelength (λ), frequency (f), and the speed of light
(c)is given by the equation c = λf, where c is a constant.

This equation shows that wavelength and frequency areinversely proportional to
each other when the speed of light remains constant.

My note- The equation takes me to the nostalgic college dayswhen I studied
“light” under  Physicsduring 1961-1964 and calculation of wavelengths of beams
using spectrometer inthe lab.

Therefore, if thewavelength of one wave is the same as the wavelength of
another wave, theirfrequencies will be different if the waves are traveling at
the same speed.

To understand thisconcept better, let's consider an example using
electromagnetic waves. Electromagnetic waves includevisible light, radio waves,
microwaves, X-rays, and many other forms ofradiation. In the electromagnetic
spectrum, different types of waveshave different wavelengths and frequencies.
For instance, radio waves have muchlonger wavelengths and lower frequencies
compared to visible light waves.

Suppose we have twoelectromagnetic waves, one in the radio wave range and
another in the visiblelight range, that both have a wavelength of 500
nanometers (nm). Despite having the same wavelength, these two waves will have
different frequencies because their speeds ofpropagation differ. The radio wave
will have a lower frequencycompared to the visible light wave since radio waves
travel at a slower speedthan visible light.

On the other hand, two waves can also have the samefrequency but different
wavelengths. If thefrequencies of two waves are the same, their wavelengths
will be different ifthe waves are traveling at the same speed. This phenomenon
is observed in Doppler effect situations. The Doppler effect occurs when there
is relative motion between the source of awave and an observer. It causes a
shift in frequency and wavelengthof the wave.

For instance, consider two sound waves with the same frequency, but one is
emitted by amoving object and the other by a stationary object. As the moving
objectapproaches the observer, the wavelength of the sound wave decreases,
resultingin a higher frequency. Conversely, as the moving object recedes from
theobserver, the wavelength of the sound wave increases, leading to a
lowerfrequency.

In summary, whiletwo waves can have the same wavelength but different
frequencies, or the samefrequency but different wavelengths, it is important to
understand therelationship between wavelength, frequency, and the speed of
propagation for agiven type of wave. This relationship determines how changes
in wavelength orfrequency can occur while keeping other parameters constant.

My note- The different radio stations worked/workswith different wavelengths
either through terrestrial transmission or though satellite. The same with
television channels also.

Q3           Howfar should a septic tank pipe hang over the tank?

A3           Gopala Krishnan, Former AssistantGeneral Manager 1996-2004 at
Department of Telecom (1966–2004)11mo

I am from Chennai,India. Earlier the exhaust was erected in a corner of septic
tank. Normallyseptic tanks are constructed in front to one side of home, so
that Lorries cancollect the waste when tank is full , keeping lorry in road,
using flexiblepipe to suck the contents of septic tank using a motor.

Nowadays, the exhaust is erected in the middle of septictank line and
perforated cover is provided. One has toSEARCH some times to see where the
exhaust is provided. This is erected to aheight of above 15 feet, by PVC non
flexible pipe.

As far as flats arecombined, there could be more septic tanks, Lorry could go
inside and exhaustsmust be somewhere in the open area/close to walls. Height of
the PVCnon-flexible pipe may be above 25–30 feet.

My note- The idea is creation of different gases canbe in the pipe line also,
hence central placing will enable escaping of gasesin a better manner.

This answer wasfound among many answers in the Quora, somewhere in the middle
for the QA and I thought of providing mypublished answer in the Quora.

Q4           Howfast do helicopter blades spin to get off the ground?

A4           Erika Fernandez, Experience inAviation Field Sun

In general, helicopter blades spin at between 200 and 600 revolutions per
minute (RPM), whichmeans they complete 200 to 600 full rotations around the
rotor hub everyminute.

The larger andheavier the helicopter, the slower the blades need to spin to
produce enoughlift. For example, thehuge Boeing CH-47 Chinook helicopter, which
can carry up to 55 passengers or28,000 pounds of cargo, has blades that spin at
approximately 225 RPM.

On the other hand,a smaller and lighter helicopter like the Robinson R22 Beta,
which can seat twopeople or carry 500 pounds of payload, has blades that spin
ataround 530 RPM.

The length of the blade also affects the spin speed. The longer the blade, the
more air it can push down and create lift. However, there is a limit tohow long
the blades can be, because they cannot exceed the speed of sound attheir tips.
If they do, they would create shock waves that would causesevere vibrations and
loss of control. Therefore, shorter blades can spinfaster than longer ones
without going supersonic.

The speed of the rotor also changes depending on theflight condition of the
helicopter. The blades aredesigned to rotate within a narrow range of a few
percent of their normalspeed. However, during climbing, descending, cruising,
or maneuvering, thepilot can adjust the pitch angle of the blades to increase
or decrease theirlift and thrust. This also affects their rotational speed
slightly.

My note- Notrelated to helicopter, but relating to RPM. In washing machines
during dryingthe RPM is set to 800RPM. This can be altered manually to 400 RPM
so that the momentum can be reduced.

So therotation of drum is much more than thatof helicopter blades.

Q5           Whatare the latest blood sugar levels suggested and approved by
ADA?

A5           PharmaRx,14h

As of my knowledge cut off in September 2021, the American Diabetes Association
(ADA)recommends the following blood sugar level targets for adults with
diabetes:

Fasting Blood Glucose (measured after not eatingfor at least 8 hours):
80-130mg/dL (4.4-7.2 mmol/L)

Postprandial Blood Glucose (measured 1-2 hoursafter starting a meal): Lessthan
180 mg/dL (10.0 mmol/L)

However, it'simportant to note that blood sugar targets can vary depending on
individualcircumstances, including age, overall health, duration of diabetes,
andpresence of other medical conditions.

All the above QA are from Quora  website  on   06--06- 2023.

Quora answers need not be 100% correct answers .
