CULTURAL QA 06-2023-26

Q1         Myfridge makes a weird noise when the door gets opened. What should
I do?

A1          Torben Mølgaard,Door Man(1969–present)2y

First, try lubricating the hinges with wd40, siliconespray, petroleum gel or
just about any other greasy stuff. Hell, butter willprobably do the trick.

If that doesn't getrid of it, probably oneof the hinges became loose and needs
tightening.

If that doesn't doit, your fridge is haunted and needs replacement.

A2          Weights Loss Diet, Health Director |Loving Father | Business
Director Jun 11

Fruit trees are along-term investment, and the time it takes for a fruit tree
to grow from aseedling to maturity varies depending on the type of fruit tree.
Some fruit trees can take aslittle as three years to bear fruit, while others
can take up to 10 years ormore. In this article, we will explore some of the
fruit trees thattake the longest to grow and what factors influence their
growth.

One of the fruit trees that take the longest to grow isthe avocado tree.
Avocado trees can take up to 10years or more to bear fruit. The avocado tree is
a tropical fruit tree thatrequires warm temperatures and a lot of sunlight to
grow. The tree can grow upto 80 feet tall and requires a lot of water to
thrive. The avocado tree is alsosensitive to frost, which can damage the plant
and delay its growth.

Another fruit tree that takes a long time to grow is themango tree. Mango trees
can take up to six years to bearfruit. The mango tree is a tropical fruit tree
that requires warm temperaturesand a lot of sunlight to grow. The tree can grow
up to 65 feet tall andrequires a lot of water to thrive. The mango tree is also
sensitive to frost, which can damage the plant and delay its growth.

The macadamia nut tree is another fruit tree that takes along time to grow.
Macadamia nut trees can take up toseven years or more to bear fruit. The
macadamia nut tree is a tropical fruittree that requires warm temperatures and
a lot of sunlight to grow. The treecan grow up to 40 feet tall and requires a
lot of water to thrive. Themacadamia nut tree is also sensitive to frost, which
can damage the plant anddelay its growth.

The peach tree is also a fruit tree that takes a longtime to grow. Peach trees
can take up to fouryears to bear fruit. The peach tree is a deciduous fruit
tree that requirescold temperatures to grow. The tree can grow up to 25 feet
tall and requires alot of water to thrive. The peach tree is also sensitive to
frost, which can damagethe plant and delay its growth.

The pomegranate tree is another fruit tree that takes along time to grow.
Pomegranate trees can take up tothree or four years to bear fruit. The
pomegranate tree is a deciduous fruittree that requires cold temperatures to
grow. The tree can grow up to 20 feettall and requires a lot of water to
thrive. The pomegranate tree is alsosensitive to frost, which can damage the
plant and delay its growth.

In conclusion, fruit trees are a long-term investment, and the time it takes for
a fruit treeto grow from a seedling to maturity varies depending on the type of
fruit tree. The avocado tree, mango tree, macadamia nut tree, peach tree, and
pomegranatetree are some of the fruit trees that take the longest to grow.
Factors such astemperature, sunlight, water, and frost can influence the growth
of these fruittrees.

My note- I am afraid the answer is not to the questionasked. Most probably
the person askedwould have meant, whichfruit after appearing takes a long time
to ripe. If so the answer may be pomegranate.

Q3         Whathappens when an airplane tire bursts during landing?

A3          Vishnu Ravi, Aerospace Engineer |Aviation Enthusiast & Content
Creator15h

Airplane tyres aremeticulously crafted to endure the tremendous stress and
pressure encounteredduring take-off and landing. Unlike ordinary tyres, they
are infused with nitrogen, ensuring optimalperformance. Upon landing, these
remarkable tyreswithstand the impact of touching the runway at a staggering
speed of 170 milesper hour, effortlessly supporting a load comparable to that
of a modest officebuilding—a remarkable 38 tons.

While it's true that tyres can occasionally fail, particularly if they
areunder-inflated or overloaded, the risk of over-inflation causing ablowout is
almost non-existent.

In the eventof a tire failure during landing, skilled pilots execute a
controlled landing, gradually bringing the aircraft to a halt by gently guiding
the tyres along therunway until their rotational velocity aligns with that of
the plane. This process often results inthe distinctive smoke emanating from
the tyres, a testament to theirresilience. Unlike the block patterns found on
car tyres, airplane tyresare thoughtfully designed with grooves by industry
leaders like Michelin. Thesegrooves prevent the blocks from breaking off,
ensuring enhanced performance andsafety.

While tire burstingincidents leading to fires have occurred, it's crucial to
note that airplane tyresare fortified with resilient and flexible materials,
including Kevlar. These reinforcements effectivelyshield the tyres from
bursting upon contact with the unforgiving runwaysurface. Furthermore, the
tire's top layer of tread is replaceable, allowing for convenient and
cost-effective maintenance. Ratherthan replacing the entire tire, only the
worn-out tread is peeled off andsubstituted with a fresh layer, preserving the
integrity of the other tirecomponents.

In conclusion, theengineering marvel of airplane tyres, their nitrogen
infusion, and theirability to withstand tremendous loads and stress demonstrate
their unrivalledreliability and resilience. With the inclusion of grooves for
optimalperformance and the incorporation of resilient materials like Kevlar,
these tyresprovide unparalleled safety and peace of mind throughout every
flight.

Q4         What arethe effects of extremely low/high blood sugars on the body?
Can someone havelow/high blood sugar without knowing it?

A4          Sarah,2h

As a Diabetic, let me break it down for you.

Having extremelylow blood sugar level (hypoglycaemia) is a medical emergency
and will result inloss of consciousness, coma and eventual death if not treated.

It can alsocause seizures and brain damage, because you need sugar to function.

High bloodsugar levels (hyperglycaemia) is not as immediately threatening but
is equallyas deadly. Whenyour sugars are high for an extended period of time,
your body produces ketonesin order to break down fats as a source of energy as
it can't use the sugar.Eventually it'll start to break down your muscles and
organs in a desperateattempt to keep you going. Yourbody can't tolerate high
levels of ketones however as it essentially poisonsyour body, so it'll try to
get rid of it via urine, hence whyundiagnosed diabetics drink and pee so much.
If leftuntreated, you go downhill very quickly and you'll die a grim death.

As for whether ornot you can have high or low sugars without knowing, your
bodyreacts to the imbalance and you'll experience symptoms such as
sweating, shaking, confusion or irritability, extreme hunger, nausea etc.

There is sucha thing as ‘hypo/hyper unawareness’ that some diabetics can get,
but generallyspeaking you can't just go severely high/low without knowing.

My note- While I got diabetics in early 1998, I wassuggested by a young doctor
at Trivandrum that on long journeys, there is likelihoodof blood sugar going
LOW, so carry sugar always while onjourney, and no harming in drinking coffee
with sugar. Probably on thisaccount, even in the present Vandebharath train,
mixture of coffee powder, milkpowder, sugar is supplied as a single pack.

Q5         How do Iturn off my refrigerator without unplugging it?

A5          Asad Ali,Blogger, Content Writer, andAffiliate Marketer Jan 18

There are a fewways to turn off your refrigerator without unplugging it. One
way is to simply use thetemperature control panel on the exterior of the fridge
to adjust thetemperature to the "off" or "0" setting. Thiswill effectively turn
off the cooling system inside the fridge withoutunplugging it.

Another way is to use the power or control button, if therefrigerator has one,
to turn off the power to the unit.

If you are still unsure, you cancheck the owner's manual for the refrigerator
for specific instructions.

2ND ANSWER- Gopala Krishnan, Former AssistantGeneral Manager 1996-2004 at
Department of Telecom (1966–2004)0y

In India, 99% ofrefrigerators are used with a power supply stabilizer.
Switching OFF the stabilizer will cut OFF the supply to thefridge.
