on fool’s paradise

In a realm where dreams doth dance,

Lies a place called Fool's Paradise,

Where reality takes a fleeting chance,

And illusions weave a beguiling guise.

Oh, the fools who wander there,

Blinded by their hopes and schemes,

Chasing mirages with hearts laid bare,

Lost within their self-made dreams.

A landscape painted with shades untrue,

Where golden promises softly gleam,

Yet every step is a bid adieu,

To reason's shore, a fading seam.

Mirthful laughter, hollow and feigned,

Echoes through this illusory domain,

As hearts are led, minds constrained,

In a dance with falsehood, they remain.

But let us not judge with harsh disdain,

For we all have tasted this sweet deceit,

In pursuit of solace from life's pain,

We seek a haven where woes retreat.

Fool's Paradise, a seductive song,

Whispers secrets to longing ears,

A melody that can do no wrong,

Until reality's truth appears.

Let compassion guide our view,

For we've all glimpsed this world askance,

In our quests for joy, misconstrued,

Hoping to find a lasting trance.

So here's to the fools who dare to dream,

In their paradise of transient grace,

May they awaken and yet redeem,

Embracing reality's gentle embrace. KR IRS 19 8 23
