AVIDYA अविद्या तमसः परं दुरन्धिमानं,
विक्षेपमोहादिभिरात्मनः कुहरैः। न पश्यति ज्ञानमयं सुखं च मोक्षं, विमूढचेताः परमं प्रपद्यते॥ अज्ञानजालं बहुमानवृत्तिसङ्गं, अनेकरूपं दुरितं च परिपन्थिनम्। मोहं विनाशय सज्ञानदीपवृत्तिं, प्रज्ञानमेकं परमं सुखमश्नुते॥ आत्मान्तरात्मा परिपश्यति सद्गुरुं, विद्यां प्रशान्तां परमात्मदर्शिनम्। ज्ञानं यथा ज्योतिषि सुधीर्विमृशन्ते, तथा विद्यां पश्य सत्यं विमुक्तिहेतुम्॥ अविद्यायाः परिपन्थिनोऽन्धकाराः, विद्यायाः प्रशान्ताः प्रकाशमानाः। आत्मा विद्यया परिपूर्णमानः, मुक्तिं व्रजन्ति परमं सुखमय्याः॥ अविद्याया जालं विदितं प्रविशन्ति, विद्यायाः प्रसादं परमं ययुर्वृत्तयः। आत्मा तु नित्यं परमात्मनि स्थितः, विमुक्तिमेति परमं सुखमेध्याः॥ AVIDYA Ignorance is the darkest of darkness, by the mists of the self, such as distraction and delusion.
