In addition to this day being the " Teachers Day" (Dr. Radhakrishnan's birthday) it also is the birthday of one of India's greatest freedom fighters - Kappalottiya Tamizhan V O Chidamabaram Aiyya Avargal. Those who saw the Tamizh film Kappalottiya Tamizhan ( The Tamizhan who was the first to launch a Swadeshi shipping company under the British Raj) would have shed tears of blood on seeing how these great men suffered at the hands of the British. We have to ask ourselves, as a Nation, whether we are worthy of the sacrifices these great souls made for our welfare. They have all been made to be forgotten by our distorted history which glorifies the invaders and blackens out local, home grown heroes - one family excluded.
