Certain laws are not needed; rather, in family life, a general law can be passed as, i don't like you so, we cease to have a relationship; so children may leave; wife/husband may leave; and all in the family may leave. So family life may be legalised as individualistic by law. The word Martial and Rape are contradictions. If the wife rapes the husbamd? Is there no law? Marriage is an institution. It is governed by the long walk together; some one ahead; someone staying back; so many sunrises and sunsets; yet value is implemented only by the women and the men. It is a life of the mind, body and soul. If after marriage is a Rape please change the rape word un married as something else. KR IRS 17 9 23

The Parliament of India passed the Criminal Law (Amendment) Bill, 2022, on February 26, 2023, which criminalises marital rape. The bill was passed by a voice vote in the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha. The bill defines marital rape as sexual intercourse by a man with his wife without her consent, and makes it a criminal offence punishable by up to 5 years in jail. The bill also provides for the following: * Marital rape is a cognizable offence, meaning that the police can arrest a person without a warrant. * Marital rape is a non-bailable offence, meaning that a person accused of marital rape cannot be released on bail unless the court grants it. * Marital rape is a triable offence, meaning that it can be tried by a sessions court. The bill is a landmark legislation that will protect the rights of women in India. It is a long-awaited victory for the women's rights movement in India, which has been fighting for the criminalisation of marital rape for many years. The bill is not without its critics. Some people argue that it will weaken the institution of marriage. Others argue that it will be difficult to prove that marital rape has taken place. However, the bill's supporters argue that it is a necessary step to protect women from sexual violence. The bill is now awaiting the assent of the President of India. Once it is assented to, it will become law -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Thatha_Patty" group.
