*NEVER BE JUDGMENTAL ON OTHERS.*
A doctor entered the hospital in a hurry after being called in for an
urgent surgery. He answered the call as soon as possible, changed his
clothes & went directly to the surgery block. He found the boy's father
pacing in the hall waiting for the doctor. On seeing him, the dad yelled:
"Why did you take all this time to come? Don't you know that my son's life
is in danger? Don't you have any sense of responsibility?"
The doctor smiled & said: "I am sorry, I wasn't in the hospital. I came as
fast as I could after receiving the call...... And now, I wish you'd calm
down so that I can do my work".
"Calm down?! What if your son was in this room right now, would you calm
down? If your own son dies now what will you do?" said the father angrily.
The doctor smiled again & replied: *“We will do our best by God’s grace and
you also pray for your son’s healthy life”.*
"Giving advises when we're not concerned is so easy" Murmured the father
but doctor was gone to attend to the job in hand.
The surgery took some hours after which the doctor came out relieved, *"Thank
goodness!, your son is saved!"* And without waiting, he carried on his way
running. "If you have any question, ask the nurse!!"
"Why is he so arrogant? He couldn't wait some minutes so that I ask about
my son's state" Commented the father when seeing the nurse minutes after
the doctor left. Nurse answered, tears coming down her face: *"His son died
yesterday in a road accident, he was in the burial when we called him for
your son's surgery. And now that he saved your son's life, he left running
to finish his son's burial."*
* MORAL: **Never be judgmental on others because you never know how their
life is & what they're going through**.*
*KR *The anxiety of the father might have induced the late arrival of
the surgeon; one might in the story may be led to believe -we shall keep
quiet all the time as every one's life is in darkness; is that correct?
When a leading cricketer was on the field playing for the country,
his father croaked; but he went only after finishing the match. That is my
responsibility. Doctor's grievances is absolutely correct, but never
divulged by him to the hospital, to be conveyed to the surgery room; but
the death of the son in the hospital, is equally an anxiety of a father,
who had paid the money under hard circumstances or otherwise, for which
doctor is answerable. So the words uttered cannot be counted up[on as harsh
when the doctor is not found. Emergency accidents noncommunicable is
different; but as an authority of the hospital, he ought to have informed
the hospital to be shared to the concerned as well as making alternate
arrangements. And that father cannot be blamed, because the doctor's son is
dead. Suppose a prostitute pleads that only because of poverty she did it,
will the court free her, even without an admonition?; if a soldier received
the death of father while on patrol, won't he be expected to carry on till
relieved? If you say that someone is judgmental, you are critical of them
because they form opinions of people and situations very quickly, when it
would be better for them to wait until they know more about the person or
situation. [disapproval] I'm trying to be less judgmental. That is one who
is gossiping about people as corrupt, sinner, would have taken money,
wantonly carried out , without even making any preliminary enquiries; and
shifting the blame on others ,without even verifying the facts and the
circumstances of the case. Doctor has a duty to inform the patient as his
son is dead already; sadness is greater; but without attending for those
absent hours, ,had the patient been dead, that was a forced loss for which
the doctor cannot file any amount of apology. For the right persons, duty
is first. Or alternate arrangements ought to have been done. KR IRS 91023
