CULTURAL QA 10-2023-11

Q1 What is the easiest psychological trick you can play on someone?

A1 Kenneth Crawford, Software Development Engineer at Deutsche
Bank (2018–present)1h

1 Say good morning to a total stranger and pretend know them.

2 Give someone five dollars and tell them they dropped it.

3 Pretend to be talking to someone who isn’t there.

My note- I have included this simple QA for the reason just as coincidence,
item 1 and 3 I could watch in two teleserials in Malayalam yesterday.

Q2 What are some mysterious Indian temples?

A2 JAI MAA VAISHNO DEVI,Updated Jan 13

10. Panakala Narasimha Swamy temple, Andhra Pradesh.

The Narasimha here is offered Panakala (Jaggery water) which is poured
directly into the mouth of the deity by a conch. One can hear a gargling
sound as the jaggery water is offered which becomes high pitched, then
lowers.

The most mysterious thing is that not a single ant comes there and half the
jaggery water spills out which is offered as prasad to the devotees.

9. Jagannath temple, Odisha.

The main idol of this temple is believed to host the real heart of
Krishna. And this temple is filled with mysterious phenomena.

The temple hosts the biggest mega kitchen in the world. The most mysterious
fact about the temple is that the food in this temple is always cooked by
stacking pots one over the other and the topmost pot always gets cooked
first.

8. Chottanikarai Bhagavathi temple, Kerala.

Though the main Goddess of this temple is Lakshmi, this temple is famous
for exorcism and mental treatment.

This temple hosts a mysterious tree and the temple's Guruthi puja starts
08:45 at evening. It is believed that Goddess Lakshmi in the form of
Bhadrakali destroys all evil forces and washes her axe in the temple pond
which turns the entire pond blood red in the light of the temple.

My note- There are two temples in Chottanikkara, in the same premises, and
this temple is called Keezhe kkavu.

7. Mahakaleshwar temple, Madhya Pradesh

The Jyotirlinga of this temple is considered the only true Jyotirlinga.

Here Mahakaleshwar is addressed as Mahakaleshwar Maharaj and is considered
as the only KING OF UJJAIN. When any officer or king or government
administrator stays in Ujjain for a night he/she loses her power and
administrative status which is a mystery.

6. Rameshwar temple, Tamilnadu

People come here to get liberated and pay homage to their departed
ancestors.

But the mysterious fact is that the Agni Thirtham beach where devotees do
the last rituals of the departed souls has no waves. There is a popular
legend that Lord Ram ordered the Lord of the Bay of Bengal to be quiet and
not disturb any devotees who come here.

My note- Not being very clean or for some other reasons most sasthrikals
have a selected room near it where Mahasamkalpam is done nowadays. After
that bath is in the bathing Ghat, but having small waves.

5. Shani Shingnapur temple, Maharasthra.

This temple is the most popular temple of Shani Dev in India. The black
stone of the temple is worshipped as Shani Dev.

There are no doors and windows in any home in Shani Shingnapur village and
no theft occurs. Even there is no door in the local bank and the toilets do
not have any door but only a curtain. It is a popular belief that whoever
tries to steal or do a crime will be punished severely by Shani.

My note- I had been to Shingnapur, a few years back. Bank entrance is not
locked. Security rooms are locked. Some houses have doors also near the
temple as I could watch. So the statement is not 100% correct.

4. Venkateshwar temple, Andhra Pradesh.

As the most visited temple in India and the second richest temple in
India, this
temple has no history of the Mughal Invasion and helped the Vijayanagara
empire to win over the Sultanates.

The main idol of this temple is believed to be alive and is said to have
real hair. It sweats and generates heat. No matter how much water you pour
on it, you can feel warm near it.

3. Nidhivan temple, Uttar Pradesh

Every night in this temple, Krishna and Radha along with the gopis are said
to do Raas Leela.

The trees in this temple are bent and are called gopis which turn into
trees during the day. Every day the priest changes a bed arranged for Radha
and Krishna which looks used every day.

The temple is closed early in the evening as whoever witnesses the Raas
Leela will go deaf, dumb, blind, or sometimes die. One can hear the sound
of the flute and anklets from the temple at night.

Even devotees are not allowed to see the main idol of Krishna of the temple
for more than five minutes as one will get enchanted and go mad for Krishna.

2. Amarnath temple, Jammu and Kashmir.

This temple is believed to be the place where Shiva told the secret of
eternal life to Parvati.

The huge Shivling which is made of ice is famous. The Shivling waxes and
wanes naturally.

Another mystery of this temple is the two pigeons. The two pigeons are
considered to be Shiva and Parvati who visit this temple at midnight on a
new moon day. Many visitors have spotted the pigeons.

1. Padmanabhaswamy temple, Kerala. This temple occupies the first place
among the mysterious temple not only in India but also in the world. It is
also the richest temple in the world.

This temple is said to be developed by the royal families of Kerala and the
conch of this temple is the state symbol of Kerala.

This temple hosts a mysterious room named Vault B and it is said the world
will be destroyed when someone opens the room. The room is not opened since
the temple is constructed. The room is believed to be protected by
serpents, vampires, and guardian angels. What is beside the door is still a
mystery.

Q3 What are the most mind-blowing facts about the human brain?

A3 Hafiz Suboor,22h

25% of the cholesterol in your body resides in your brain and 60% of the
brain is fat

Size doesn't matter. Einstein's brain was 1.2 kg: 10% smaller than average

The brain contains 2% of body weight yet it still consumes 20% of the
body's energy production

It takes five positive things to outweigh a single negative thing. Our
brains have something called a "Negative Bias" that makes us remember bad
news more than the good ones.

Babies have big heads to hold rapidly growing brains. A 2-year-old's brain
is 80% of the adult size

The left side of your brain (left hemisphere) controls the right side of
your body: and, the right side of your brain (right hemisphere) controls
the left side of your body

Our brains are getting smaller. They are the size of a tennis ball -
smaller than they were 10,000-20,000 years ago

Every time your heart beats, your arteries carry 20-25% of your blood to
your brain. The harder you think, the more oxygen your brain will use.

Your brain consumes about 20 watts of power: enough to illuminate a very
dim light bulb

The neocortex (language and consciousness) accounts for 76% of the brain's
mass

95% of your decisions take part in the subconscious mind

Your brain contains 100 billion neurons: about 16 times the number of
people on earth

Men's brains are generally 10% bigger than women's brains

Women have more grey matter and a larger hippocampus (involved in emotional
processing) than men

Your brain keeps developing until your late 40's

Second brain: Your gut contains 100,000 neurons (the enteric nervous
system). Gut bacteria maker over 30 neurotransmitters, including serotonin.

Experts agree that there is more we don't know about the brain than we
currently know.

Every time you recall a memory or have a new thought, you create a
connection in the brain.

There are no pain receptors in the brain, so the brain can feel no pain.

Reading aloud and talking often to a young child promotes brain development

There are about 100,000 miles of blood vessels in the brain.

Q4 How were Ramanujan's equations used to explain black holes?

A4 “Silk Road”, AI Expert19h

Ramanujan was a brilliant mathematician who came up with some amazing
formulas that are still relevant today.

One of his last discoveries was a connection between two types of
mathematical functions: modular forms and mock modular forms.

Modular forms are like waves that have a lot of symmetry and patterns,
while mock modular forms are more complicated and chaotic.

But Ramanujan noticed that they had something in common: when you plug in
the square root of -1 (also known as i) into both of them, you get very
similar results.

This is important because it turns out that mock modular forms can help us
understand one of the most mysterious objects in the universe: black holes.

Black holes have a lot of entropy, which means they are very disordered and
unpredictable.

But using Ramanujan's mock modular forms, physicists can calculate the
entropy of black holes more accurately and easily.

Ramanujan claimed that he got his inspiration from a Hindu goddess named
Namagiri, who would reveal mathematical secrets to him in his dreams.

He didn't have a formal proof for his claim, but he was confident that it
was true. He wrote a letter to his mentor, G.H. Hardy, explaining his
discovery shortly before he died in 1920.

It took almost a century for other mathematicians to verify his intuition
and find a rigorous proof.

Ramanujan's equations are an example of how pure mathematics can have
unexpected applications in physics and cosmology. They also show how a
creative mind can transcend the boundaries of conventional logic and
discover new truths.

Q5 How can 20-year-olds enhance their intelligence?

A5 Shivam Rajbhar,1 years working experience science Oct 3

While writing Principia Mathematica, Isaac Newton used to forget to eat,
sleep and bathe. While painting, Michelangelo forgot to sleep for days.

Were these two intelligent? — They were geniuses.

But there are many people with high-intelligence who are losers. Why? Because
they don’t tap into their potential.

Intellegence is a natural ability to acquire and apply knowledge. Despite
your IQ score, learn to apply your potential which these geniuses did.

Here is the secret to unlocking your true potential.

Flow-State: It’s a state of enhanced performance and immense focus.

Artists, scientists, musicians, sportsmen enter this state and create magic.
The greats are great because they have the ability to immerse themselves in
their work.

How to get into flow? — Allow it by removing the blocks.

Let go of the idea of discipline, struggle, effort for flow. The more you
strive for flow, the further you move away from it.

Let go of your expectations regarding your performance. Allow yourself to
make mistakes.

Once you remove these, you will dissolve your ego and anxiety. You will tap
into your potential.

The performance will over-flow instead of you squeezing for it.Instead of
aiming to increase your intelligence, tap into your existing potential.
