Q3         Howare you feeling after coming back from the USA?

A3          Gopalkrishna Vishwanath, A frequentvisitor to USA7h

I got backon Oct 15th Sunday after spending about 100 days in California.

How am Ifeeling?

I am happy to be back home after this long absence.

It was good being with my daughter and her familyphysically for 100 days
instead of the weekly WhatsApp video sessions we usedto have earlier.

But, afterall, home is home. There is no place like home.

We have beenborn and brought up here in India.

While we enjoy our periodic visits to the USA, thereal reason for going to the
USA is to be with the children (and grandchild)and not because of the material
prosperity we see there.

Broad cleanroads, fast cars, , superb malls, and everything in jumbo sizes and
other signsof prosperity can hold your attention and awe only for a limited
period oftime.Soon you will getused to it.

You willmiss home, your near and dear ones, friends and your old lifestyle that
youhave been used to for decades. You will miss the noise, smells and taste
ofIndia!

Whatever youmight say about India, compared to western countries, it is my home
and, forme, happy living is possible only if you live in your own home, sweet
home.

So, I feel glad to be back and resume my old routine, till it is time to make
another visit possibly next year or the next.

Physically,I am still feeling jet lagged. I feel sleepy during the day and my
shortafternoon naps from 2:30pm to 3:15 pm earlier now extend to 5 pm due to
jetlag.

I used tosleep soundly at night. For the past few days, after returning, I have
been getting up at 2 am and been unable to go back to sleep.Somehow around 4 or
5 am I manage to go back to sleep.

This willlast for a few more days and the improvement has already begun.

I hope tofeel physically normal in the next couple of days.

My note- Ithink most diabetics have problem in sleep. After sleeping  for 2
hours, getting up.  No sleep for 2-3 hours. As far as I am concerned after
eating some snacks/biscuits anddrinking water I get sleep, as if blood sugar
level is made up.

Q5         Who was Hanuman's son? How did he come tothe gatekeeper of Hell?

A5          Devala Rees, Practitioner of SanatanaDharma under Mata
Amritanandamayi10h

The story goes that once, when Hanuman bathed inthe Indian Ocean, a drop of his
sweat, charged with his body’s Divine power, miraculously impregnated a female
makara(a sea monster). Thepregnant makara was later caught by fishers of
Patala, the Underworld(which is very much not Hell, by the way, that is a wrong
translation). When the Asuras of Patala killedthe makara and cut her open, they
discovered Hanuman’s son, a miraculoushalf-vanara, half-makara demigod.

The Asuras informed their lord Mahiravana of thisextraordinary discovery.
Mahiravana cameand inspected this anomalous creature, and recognized his great
andfast-burgeoning power. Seeing that this creature could be useful, he named
him Makaradhvaja. Mahiravana had Makaradhvaja raised in Patala, enslaved him
and madehim serve as a gatekeeper.

Later Hanuman came, and Makaradhvaja fought hisown father and lost. Hanuman
knockedMakaradhvaja unconscious, but did not kill him. Hanuman slew Mahiravana.
Learning who Makaradhvaja really was, Hanumaninstalled him as Lord of Patala in
Mahiravana’s place.
