Respected sir,
Thank you very much for the response and providing clarifications about the
draw backs of the engine in the rear in flights.

CULTURAL QA 11-2023-21
Q1: Why do private jets have rear-mounted engines?
A1: Today, mostprivate jets have similar designs: rear-mounted engines with a
T-tail andwinglets. There are exceptions, of course, like thetrijet Dassault
Falcon 8X and Falcon 900 or the complete outliers, such as theHonda HA-420
HondaJet, whose engines are found above the wings of the privatejet. Then,
there is the Cirrus SF50 Vision Jet, which has a singleengine mounted on the
top of the fuselage, a literal unicorn within thebusiness jet market.
Altogether, having the engines at the rear of privateaircraft is a natural
choice. More room is left at the wing for controls andsurfaces. Also, a load is
off the wings to concentrate on other tasks withoutbeing overwhelmed. The
closeness of the engines also provides better overallbalance and control.
One advantage of the aft-mounted enginesis that they do not create as
much asymmetric thrust as under-mounted engineswhen one engine fails, because
they are much closer to the centreline of theairplane. Under-wing mounted
engines produce a significant yaw (aside to side movement of the nose of the
aircraft) when an enginefails, while aft-mounted engines produce less
However, there are some disadvantagesof rear-mounted engines. Drawbacks
include deeper stall characteristics, exposure to disturbed air from the wings,
therequirement for a more robust rear fuselage, and a more complex fuel
system. The principal disadvantages include: Lack of wingbending relief, this
being one of the main benefits for an aircraft when theengines are mounted
under the wing. The lack ofbending relief usually requires the wing to be
strengthened structurally, resulting in a higher weight penalty
Q2: Can anything stop a tsunami?
A2: We cannot predict where, when or howdestructive the next tsunami will be.
However, while tsunamis cannot beprevented, there are things one can do before,
during and after a tsunami thatcould save many lives.
Engineersand other experts suggest these strategies for tsunami-resistant
construction:Build structures with reinforced concrete instead of wood, even
though woodconstruction is more resilient to earthquakes. Reinforced concrete
orsteel-frame structures are recommended for vertical evacuation structures.
Tsunami-vulnerableareas need to create strong coastal defence schemes of
offshore breakwaters, tsunami walls and flood levees. Tsunami waves hit hard, so
ideally thesefoundations will be made of reinforced concrete to avoid erosion.
Q4: What is that onehealthy habit that has changed your life?
A4:
· Many doctors suggest that daily 30 minutes exercisefor 5-6 days a week
can be helpful for our body. Brisk walking for 30 minutesor just stretching can
add some more healthy years to one’s life.
· Set deadlines for activities to achieve each dayare one of the best
habits one can develop. Most people don't like deadlines orthe pressure that
comes with them, but this can actually be helpful. Having a goal in mind when
atask should be completed can greatly impact the day.
· A healthy diet, good sleep, regularphysical activity and stress
management build up over time helps to keep one’s feelingat best by improving
mental health and well-being, benefitting heart healththus helping to maintain
a healthy body mass index.
