Doelephants attack king cobra often? Is the attack of the king cobra being

tohave such deadly venom? {At theSmithsonian's National Zoo, king cobras}
Q2 When areadult diapers necessary?
KR Generallyit would cause only harm rather than any benefit; a child is
different from an agedadult; however, suppose you want to do a long drive non

CULTURAL QA 12-2023-20
All the below QA arefrom Quora DIGEST to me on 20-12-2023.
Selected quora answers generallyinteresting only are included .Still they
need not be 100% correct answers.
Compiled and posted by R.Gopala Krishnan, 80, former ITS on 20-12-2023.
Q1 Can acobra kill an elephant?
A1 Abdul110, May 6
No, a cobra cannot kill an elephant. While a cobra'svenom is highly toxic and
can be deadly to humans and other animals, it is notstrong enough to kill an
elephant. Elephants are much larger and have thickerskin than the prey
typically targeted by cobras.
It is possiblefor an elephant to survive a cobra bite, depending on a variety
of factors suchas the size andhealth of the elephant, the amount of venom
injected, and the promptness ofmedical treatment.
Cobra venom canbe highly toxic and affect the nervous system, causing
paralysis, respiratory failure, and even death. However, elephants have a
relatively high resistance to snake venom due totheir size and physiology.
If an elephantis bitten by a cobra, it may experience swelling and pain at the
site of the bite, as well as othersymptoms such as fever, weakness, and
respiratory distress. Prompt medicaltreatment, including antivenom therapy and
supportive care, can help improvethe elephant's chances of survival. One might
think a giant snake such as a reticulated python or anacondawould be likely to
defeat an elephant.
My conclusion- Treatment can be given only for domesticated elephants. So after
some time theelephant maydie in forests
Q2 When areadult diapers necessary?
A2 LifreeIndia,Dec 7
Adult diapers may become necessary for variousreasons and can be a practical
solution for managing specific issues. Here aresome situations when adult
diapers may be needed:
1. UrinaryIncontinence: The most common reason for using adult diapers is
urinary or fecal incontinence.Urinary Incontinence can be caused by a variety
of factors, including age, medical conditions, pregnancy, childbirth, surgery,
and neurological disorders.
2. Accidentalleakage: Accidental urine leakage is a term to refer to any
unexpected release of urine thatcan occur due to various reasons, such as
laughing, sneezing, coughing, orlifting heavy objects, especially in women.
This is often referred to as stressurinary incontinence. It can also happen
when there is a strong and sudden urgeto urinate (urge incontinence) and the
person is unable to reach the toilet intime.
3. AddressingMobility and Accessibility Issues: Adult Diapers like Lifree Extra
Absorb Pants, with a6-glass absorption capacity, provide comfort for those with
who addressmobility and accessibility issues. The stretchable waistband ensures
a securefit, closely contouring to the body and preventing sagging. Its soft
andbreathable materials help in keeping it comfortable for the skin
whileminimizing skin irritation by allowing air circulation, reducing moisture.
Lifree'sdesign includes side leg gathers and smooth leg passage, ensuring a
comfortablefit and minimizing the risk of leakage. Designed for those facing
mobilitychallenges, it promotes cleanliness and skin health, allowing
individuals tomove freely with confidence.
4. Post-Surgeryor Hospitalization: After surgery or during hospital stays,
patients may experiencetemporary loss of bladder or bowel control. Adult
diapers are often used duringthese periods to manage postoperative incontinence
until the individualrecovers.
5. Dementia andCognitive Impairment: People with dementia or cognitive
impairments may have difficulty recognizing the need to usethe restroom or
finding their way to the toilet. Adult diapers can offercaregivers a way to
maintain dignity and hygiene for their loved ones.
6. Pregnancy:Adult diapers can be especially beneficial during pregnancy when
bladder control may beaffected. Pregnant women may experience increased
pressure on the bladder, leading to occasional leaks or urgency. Lifree adult
diapers can be used inthose cases as a discreet and comfortable solution,
providing confidence andconvenience for pregnant women dealing with any
unexpected leaks. They aredesigned with advanced absorbency and a secure fit,
making them ideal formaintaining an active lifestyle during this special time.
7. SevereDiarrhea or Digestive Disorders: Chronic diarrhea, irritable bowel
syndrome (IBS), orother digestive disorders can lead to frequent and urgent
bowel movements.Adult diapers can help individuals maintain their independence
and avoidembarrassing situations.
8. Travel orOutdoor Activities: Some individuals with medical conditions or
frequent bathroom trips maychoose to wear adult diapers when traveling or
participating in outdoor activitieswhere restroom access is limited.
9. Bedwetting:Adult Diapers help those in need to maintain personal hygiene,
protect clothing and bedding, and enhance the overall quality of life by helping
them to keep the bed dry andcomfortable, preventing the need for frequent sheet
changes. Adult bedwettingcan be due to various causes, including medical
conditions or stress.
It is thereforeessential to choose the right type and size of adult diaper
based on individualneeds andpreferences. For instance, adult diapers like that
of Lifree Extra Absorb Pantsare for those who need adult diapers to manage
urine leaks. Additionally, consulting with a healthcare professional can help
determine the mostappropriate solution and address any underlying medical
issues causingincontinence. Using Lifree adult diapers can provide comfort,
convenience, andconfidence to individuals who face these challenges.
My note- The QA isadded in no way recommending LIfree products. In Chennai
medical shops there are not onlydisplays, but also visible notice that adult
diapers are available, nowadays. The QA is added for the differentuses.
Q3 Arethere any ancient mammals who were much larger than modern mammals,
such asdinosaurs being bigger than birds?
A3 MichelRenbarre, Lives in France4h
Sure. There was a period of giant mammals. TheParaceratherium (20 tons) was the
biggest land mammals ever. It was an ancestor of themodern rhinoceros.
Among land carnivors you had the 1 ton Andrewsarchus
The biggest elephant ever was the steppe mammoth, abigger cousin of the woolly
mammoth.
The biggest bear ever was the ArctotheriumAngustidens. Between 1 ton and 1.5
tons this was no teddy bear and even themodern polar bear was not up to size.
Then you had the biggest camel ever, Gigantocamelus. Did you know that
cameloriginated from North America?
And those are just a few samples;
Q4 Whichones are the most interesting facts about the lion attitude, and
why?
A4 HanselSapkota,12h
The Greatest Lion will eventually die miserably no matter how long it
lives.That's the world.
At their Peak, they rule, chase other animals, catch, devour, gulp, and leave
their crumbs for hyenas. But age comes fast.
The old Lion can't hunt, can't kill, or defend itself. It roams and roars until
itruns out of luck. It will be cornered by the hyenas, nibbledat, and eaten
alive by them. They won't even let it die before it isdismembered.
Life is short.Power is ephemeral. Physical beauty is short-lived, I have seen
it in lions. I have seen itin old people. Every Lionwhich lives long enough
will be vulnerable at some point.
Never be so arrogant about your success or money fameanything. Be grateful
When the time is yours you are the most powerfulperson in the world.
Q5 Is ittrue that goats can climb sheer walls?
A5 LuciaBaratto,18h
These extraordinary animals have unique adaptationsthat allow them to defy
gravity and reach heights most othercreatures can only dream of.
One of the mostimportant features that enable mountain goats to climb is their
cloven hooves.
Each hoof has twotoes that can spread out and grip the rock surface. The hooves
also have a rubber-like sole thatprovides traction and prevents slipping. The
sole is soft and flexible, allowing the goat to conform to the shape of the rock
and find small holds. Thehooves also have sharp rear spurs that act as
stabilizers and prevent the goatfrom falling backward.
Mountain goatsalso have excellent vision that allows them to spot routes and
potentialdangers. They can see colours and have awide field of vision, which
helps them avoid predators and otherthreats.
They also have akeen sense of smell and hearing, which complements their
vision. Mountain goats areextremely agile and can jump up to 4 meters in a
single bound. They have anatural instinct for climbing and can learn from their
elders and peers.
Mountain goatsare truly remarkable animals that have evolved to master the art
of climbing. Their cloven hooves,rubber-like soles, strong legs, balance,
vision, and instincts allow them toeasily scale almost vertical walls. They are
an example of how nature canovercome seemingly impossible challenges and thrive
in rugged environments.
Q6 What isspecial with Musgum tribe, Cameroon.
A6 ShivTandon,15h
The musgum, an ethnic group in far north province incameroon, created
theirhomes from compressed sun-dried mud. The tall conical dwellings, in
theshape of a shell (artillery), featured geometric raised patterns.
A characteristic settlement form is the compound, acluster of units linked by
walls. The domed huts of the musgum people are built in shapedmud, a variant of
cob. Cobbuilding is the most widely used technique in the world, since no tools
areneeded – hands, earth and water are enough.
Q7 Why didpeople build brutalist buildings?
A7 MichaelB., Programmer at A Healthcare Company Mar 25
Because all thenice buildings got destroyed in World War II.
Brutalism is an architectural style that emerged in the UKin the 1950s.
Anoutgrowth of Modernism, Brutalism is the ultimate expression of function
overform. It is characterized bysimple geometric shapes, bare concrete and
brick construction, and a completelack of decorative elements. It creates ugly,
imposingbuildings which exist to serve their function and nothing else.
But much like the UK’s other distinct postwararchitectural feature, the two tap
sink, Brutalist architecture is a result of a particular set ofhistorical
realities.
While the UK was on the winning side of World War II,it did not actually win
the war. America won the war. The UK simply survivedit.
London wasflattened in the Blitz. The British Empire fell apart as its colonies
declared independence. And the economy was so severelydevastated that food
rationing would continue until 1954, 9 years after V Day.
Brutalist architecture solved one of the mostpressing issues postwar Britain
had. How to house its population.
Concrete can be poured really quickly. Geometricshapes give you the most usable
space for your buck. Painting concrete doesn’t actually do anything, so youcan
skip that step. And who has the money for decorative elements when agood chunk
of London is homeless?
In the 1970s Brutalism would see another surge inpopularity, in the Soviet
Union. The Soviets had been just as devastated by thewar as the British, if nor
more so. And their economy recovered even moreslowly for reasons I could write
an entire essay on.
Quick, standardized, mass produced buildings madefrom cheap yet durable
materials were a godsend. And that’s what Brutalism isat its core.
Brutalism is Modern architecture for really poor nationswho need those
buildings up yesterday.
My note- TheRegional telecom training centre constructed at Kaimanam near
karamana, Trivandrum where I worked assenior lecturer was builtunder crash
program, with rough concrete work outside. Only inside wasplastered. Only
cement flooring. The staff quarters were also same type, whereI lived in D type
quarters for 13 years at Trivandrum.
When I read andsaw photos of brutalisam buildings, this crash type building and
quarters cameto my recollection.
