I also have helped him financially, to the extent I can and have spoken to him. He is one of the persons I remember in my prayers for his services to our Religion and Nation and he thanked me and said our blessings and support are what keeps him going against all odds. The BITTER TRUTH IS There is not a more selfish, self centered community than us. We will be the first to shut our doors if there is a problem with our neighbour, even if he is a brahmin and will justify it saying " non interference", or I am just minding my own business or " Edukku Vambai Vilai Kotuthu Vanganum?". It still pains me whenever I recall the anguish of the Kashmiri Pandits when they said more than the atrocities they were subjected to, it was the total silence of the fellow Hindus that hurt them most. We all need to hang or bury our heads in shame. The way our dress, our way of saying things is ridiculed in the tv serials, not only we so shamelessly tolerate it BUT also watch and support the viewership of those channels. Can there be a more shameless race than us? Let them try it with any other community and see their reaction. We have not watched any serials for more than 25 years now, if not more, but occassionally tune in to see whether the trend is still there or talk to our friends to know.
