Respected Sir/s,
In France and Germany, in particular, the use of fountain pens iswidespread,
since in many European countries children stillbegin to learn writing with this
kind of writing device. To avoid mistakes, special ink can be used that can be
made invisible by applying an ink eraser.InGermany every supermarket /
departmental store sells cheap fountain pens(Pelikan, Lamy).
USA has the greatest number of fountain pen users andspecialised fountain pen
shops.
EvenJapan, with a slightly smaller population than the US, is much more
fountain penuser friendly, as they are sold nearly everywhere in Japan.
Thecommunity of fountain pen enthusiasts has grown year by year as more people
arepicking up the hobby of writing and collecting.
Thefirst known fountain pens in India were made by
Dr. RadhikaNath Saha. He had been awarded a patent for fountain pens in 1910.
WONDER why people still use fountain pens?
· They make writing easier.
· Wide variety of ink colours.
· Sophistication and status Symbol.
· Some individuals find using afountain pen to be a more personal and
enjoyable way to write, and theycontinue to use them in their daily lives.
FormerUK Prime Minister David Cameron was known to use a fountain pen.
Similarly, former US President Barack Obama used a fountain pen to sign the
AffordableCare Act into law in 2010. Obama used 23 pens to sign theAffordable
Care Act. PresidentTruman would sign each letter of his name with a new pen
which he gave away assouvenirs on top of legislators to help encourage his
support for a re-election.
· Love for fountain pens is one of the common linksbetween Mahatma Gandhi
and Pablo Neruda. Glad to have gifted a special pen tothe Pablo Neruda Museum,
made by the family whom Gandhiji encouraged to developthe first indigenous
fountain pen in India #PresidentKovind
· Nib shapes and sizes.
Fountainpens come with different nib shapes and sizes, to
strike ones fancy. For example, flex penscan add character and flair to
calligraphic script while fude nibs are excellentfor writing characters. One
also has fine or broad nibs that can change theline width of writing. There are
even specialty nibs that can have it groundedto exact specifications with the
help of a nibmeister. Even if one is using thesame ink, the type of nib one
uses can make writing look different and all themore unique.
· IRIDIUM nibs are used in fountain pens asit is notable for its
hardness,resistance to corrosion.
K .MUTHU KANNAN, achemistry teacher in a government-aided school in Salem, says
he has never useda ballpoint pen in his life. Kannan points out three reasons
for not usingballpoint pens –- firstly, they would affect one’s
handwriting;secondly, they can cause pain to one’s fingers and arms within a
few minutes ofstarting to write; and thirdly , they pollute the environment as
the usedrefills are thrown into waste bins.
Kannan, 53, is an ardent lover of fountain pens and uses themalways. Also, he
wants his students to use fountain pens.
Kannan has a collectionof more than 200 ink pens, starting with those worth
Rs 10 to those worth Rs 10,000. They include Parkervarieties, Pilot pens
(including Indian and Japan). Wality-Airmail, TWSBI-Japanvariety, Oliver,
Platinum, Sheaffer and Pelikan, to name a few.

Nibmeister*A nibmeister, bydefinition, is someone who can improve or reform a
nib. It is an honoured tradition and thenibmeisters are like the alchemists of
the pen world; they can take a nib thatisn't functioning properly or isn't to
your liking and turn it into gold

Fantastic reminisces, Sridharan Sir. Good handwriting is a gift of Goddess
Saraswathi. If it can be maintained, nothing like that. I seek the help of
our household assistant to write addresses when needed as she possesses the
gift of excellent handwriting. Well educated too.
Keep up using the ink pen. I knew of a Parsee businessman who only signs with
an ink pen! He also feels it as a status symbol. I agree partly with him.
Thanks for further illustrating the ink pen.

beautiful article on fountain pens. Throughout my life, I always have had a
standby ink pen. Not an ink cartridge pen but a fluid ink-filled pen. I like
the Pilot ink to be used as I frequent to Japan and it is one of the best ink
available.
Recalling fountain pens, when my father visited Tokyo first time to be with us
years back, I took him to a stationery shop that had three twelve-story
buildings and almost any stationery available in the world. I told about the
background of the shop (called, Itoya) and requested my father to express his
desire for any items sold there. Promptly, he came out with the desire to have
an ink pen. He knew that I was using one which is called Carand'Ache but he
had no idea of the price of the same. I recalled that he used to use the
brand 'Black Bird' (made in the UK) for his writing. When I went to the floor
they were selling pens, I requested Appa to choose whichever pen he wanted. He
was always concerned about the price. I told the salesman not to mention the
price even in Yen and he adhered to the same. Appa chose a pen that was
US$1,000 equivalent and till his demise, he was not aware of the price but was
very proud of the pen and the entire village was knowing that he bought a
fountain pen from Japan. He was an admirer of good things and he got what he
wanted. Just a recollection.

RespectedSir/s,
SUBJECT:*"இங்க் பென் இருக்கா?"
*DOYOU HAVE A FOUNTAIN PEN*
I LOVE FOUNTAI PEN
In today's world of fast-pacedtechnology and digital note-taking,
the simple act of using a pen and paper inschools might seem outdated. However,
as new trends emerge, some old-schooltools are making a comeback, and one such
example is the fountain pen.
Fountain pens, once a common sight inclassrooms, have experienced
resurgence in popularity in recent years. But arethey truly practical tools for
modern-day students, or are they merely anostalgic relic of the past? Time will
tell.
FOUNTAIN PENS write moreergonomic and improve our handwriting. They
reduce hand fatigue, cramping, and allowsus to write for longer periods of
time. They are also more customizable andexpressive than other pens.
Theyare wetter than ballpoint pens, and don't require you to press down on them
towrite. Wetter simply means that the ink flows really well. This is
becausefountain pens use water based inks, instead of oil-based ink (like
theballpoints). Actually, fountain pens write so effortlessly, a good fountain
penwrites under its own weight
Thisresults in less hand fatigue, allowing one to write for longer periods of
time.
Mostfountain pens also have a thicker barrel than regular ballpoints. This
meansone has better grip and less cramping in hand.
Overall, making the switch from ball pointpens to fountain pens has allowed
me to write longer, more relaxed, and withless strain.
They Improve our Handwriting
Whetheryour pen affects your handwriting?
Ofcourse, it does.. Thewriting qualities of the pen will impact the way one
writes, and also the way ourhandwriting looks.
Since fountain pens have the most effortless
writingexperience of all pens, our handwriting will look precisely as
effortless andsmooth.
Fountain pens are also more dynamic. One canchoose from all kinds of
different nib sizes and designs, which will, in turn, change our hand. I used
write differently with every pen.
They also make our handwriting LOOK better.
Butbesides affecting the way one writes, it also simply LOOKS
different from any other pen.One can almost always tell whether something was
written with a fountain pen ornot. It has this characteristic line to it.
The first four years I wrote exclusivelywith black Parker Quick in a
Parker IM. I had one pen, one ink, and no fun.
Until recently, I foundthat there are HUNDREDS of inks available - and
they're cheap! So now I have roughly 20 colours lying around. There are also
archival inksavailable, which are waterproof and fraud resistant. Or UV or
freeze-resistantinks, like Noodler'sBulletproof Black.
One Can Use Different Nibs
Anothergreat reason is the possibility to use different nibs. It's another way
topersonalize handwriting without any effort.
There are basically a couple of basic nibsavailable:
· extra fine and fine nibs
· medium and broad nibs
· italic or cursive nibs - these are the calligraphynibs
stubnibs - these are mild italics and better for everyday use
· flex nibs - these give cool line variation.
Fountain pens are the best looking pens out there. And they areavailable in all
different shapes and sizes; that speaks for them:
Most fountain pens also have athicker barrel than regular
ballpoints. This means to have better grip and lesscramping in our hand.
Overall, making the switch from ballpoint pens to fountain pens has
allowed me to write longer, more relaxed, andwith less strain.
Since fountain pens have the most effortlesswriting experience of all pens,
our handwriting will look precisely aseffortless and smooth.
Using a good penthat has a bit of weight to it helps me to take writing
seriously. It signalsthat I want to use the best tools available to write,
which automaticallyresults in a better-looking hand. Also, it's more fun to
write with a good pen, which will result in more practice time, which will, in
turn, result in betterhandwriting.
Whenone loves handwriting, one loves to write.
FountainPens Are a Great Hobby
What makes pens such a great hobby? Well, they are small, so one can really
load up entire home with them and havethousands of them.
Peoplethat enjoy writing with fountain pens, generally like each other and want
tohelp each other out. There are all kinds of cool.
As I noted before, fountain pens are verycustomizable to ones need and
taste. That means they are also morerecognizable. The ink, the nib one uses,
the line variation you get - these areall individual
Choose more bold inks for writing greetingcards. Personally, I use a
broader nib for notes and messages. This allows meto be more expressive and
have a more characteristic hand. Similarly, I use afiner nib for manuscript
writing. This allows me to write smaller and more efficiently, and it increases
legibility.
They Help Me Think
Thisactually goes for pens in general. Sitting down with pen and paper allows
me tothink more clearly, more coherently, than writing on my laptop. It allows
fordeep thinking instead of fast thinking. Especially with fountain pens,
whichare so smooth and effortless, it really becomes an extension of the mind.
Fountain pens nowadays are a lotbetter than they used to be,
back in the old days, making them almost aspractical and reliable as a
ballpoint pen. Add to that the enjoyment they willgive one and there is truly
no reason not to use them.
Writing with anink pen is truly a pleasure!
At a young age (5th to 12th grade) it was an ink pen for school. If one brings a
ballpoint pen, the teachers will confiscate it, or break it andthrow it. One
could get a good pen forfive to seven bucks. Get two gold coloured nibs for one
rupee. Camlin pens arenine bucks I think, and they keep them in a cardboard box
lined with plasticcovers. There is a glass window in the middle of the pen. It
shows the amountof ink. Sometimes it amuses me to see a bubble in it like a
mason's levelboard. Stylus pens are available in stores. A kind of smoky smell.
If you writefor a long time, the thumb joint hurts. Hero pen is used by our
classy housemates. The tip of the pen has an arrow mark. The ink should be
absorbed into thebottle. No matter how much you absorb, the feeling of not
being full remains. We don't take it to the exam fearing this.
A pen needs filler just like eye drops to put ink. Ink filler. The glass ink
filler has changed to plastic and now the cartridge is likeputting a bullet in
a gun.
I always use black inkwhile reading. Brill ink was popular then, Cell Park
will have a different colourcalled 'blue-black' mixed with black-blue. I also
like 'Turquoise-Blue' verymuch Ink colour will have good names. Royal Blue,
Permanent Black, Laurel Rose,Turquoise Blue etc. Camlin ink is available at the
craft store and is darkerthan Brill. If the pen is left uncapped, the pen
should be serviced by tapingit for viscosity. People who use one brand of ink
do not use the other brand ofink, as is the case with the northern and southern
tradition. Cleaning a pen isan art. Soak it in moderately hot water to remove
all the ink and wipe it witha torn cloth. After drying the ink should be filled
and brought to the road.Just like if you get blood on your hand, put it in your
mouth, if you get inkon your finger, rub it on your head. I think this is one
of the reasons why thehead hair is still black. No matter how good a pen is, it
won't smudge on theedge of the thumb and on the shirt collar. Sometimes we
write around the threadwhen the neckband part is dry. A pencil box always has a
few tools to repair amust-have pen – a chalk piece/small piece of cloth and a
blade. If you write inink pen, the handwriting will look better. Apartfrom
this, if we can't beat someone who is fatter than us at school, we willtake
revenge by splashing ink on the back of his shirt like backstabbing him onthe
way home. On the day of school summer vacation, everyone will play with inkon
everyone else. After going to college, writing with an ink pen was adisgrace,
so we switched to ballpoint pens. Like toilet paper, the pen getslost, or
breaks, before the refill runs out. Today the ink penhas become an expensive
souvenir and show castle decoration.I will never forget that ink pen that was
gifted to my father. He gave it tome. It was pretty heavy. The brass glistened
as he scraped the paint over thepen. But now we have lost the ink pen. 🖋️🖋️🖋️
*WHAT IENJOYED,OTHERS TOO WOULD HAVE ENJOYED* *The Wilson pen was used by
AMBEDKAR to write the draft, beforeit was handed over to Prem Behari Raizada.
Prem Behari Narain Raizada (1901–1966) was an Indian calligrapher. Heis notable
for being the calligrapher who hand-wrote the Constitution of India. *A
calligrapher is an individual who uses an artistic instrument to create an
expressive style of writing known as calligraphy. They specialize in
handwriting and use a variety of special tools and ink to create this
ornamental penmanship.
