Quora answers need not be 100% correct answers .Compiled and posted by R. Gopalakrishnan, on 13-01-2024 Q1 Whyhasn't Venus exploded yet? It has high pressure and temperatures. AQ SilkRoad,11h It's often called Earth'stwin because they have similar sizes and structures. But don't let that fool you: Venus is a hell of a lot different from our home planet. It spins backwards, sothe Sun rises in the westand sets in the east. It has a super thick atmosphere that's mostly carbon dioxide, which traps heat like crazy and makes Venus the hottest planet in the solar system. The surface temperature is about 470 degrees Celsius, which is hot enough to melt lead. And the air pressure is 90 times higher than on Earth,so you'd be crushed like a soda can if you tried to land there. Not to mention the cloudsof sulfuric acid that smell like rotten eggs and rain down acid rain. You'd think that with all that heat and pressure, somethingwould give. But, it turns out thatVenus has some ways of coping with its extreme environment. One of them is its strong ionosphere, which is a layer ofelectrically charged particles in the upper atmosphere. The ionosphere actslike a shield against the solar wind, which is a stream of charged particles from the Sun that canstrip away a planet's atmosphere. Venus doesn't have amagnetic field like Earth does, but it has an induced magnetic field that forms when thesolar wind interacts with the ionosphere. This protects Venus from losing toomuch of its atmosphere to space. Another way thatVenus deals with its heat and pressure is by having a lot of volcanic activity. It has more volcanoes than any other planet in the solarsystem, and some of them may still be active today.Volcanoes can release heatand gas from the interior of the planet, which can help regulate thetemperature and pressure.Volcanoes can also reshape the surface of Venus, whichis mostly covered by plains of solidified lava. In fact, Venus has very fewimpact craters compared to other rocky planets, because its volcanoes andatmosphere Q2 DidDuryodhana really reach heaven, or was it just an illusion created forYudhishthira? A2 LakshmiTelidevara, Studying Vyasa Bharat again and again.3y Thanks for the question. It was not illusion.Duryodhana really reached heaven. Yudhishtira was nothappy to see him in such splendour.. Then Narada enlightened him thus.. Narada, smiling, toldhim, ‘It should not be so, O king of kings. Whileresiding in Heaven, all enmities cease. O mighty-armed Yudhishthira, do not sayso about king Duryodhana. Hear my words. Here is king Duryodhana. He is worshipped with the godsby those righteous men and those foremost of kings who are now denizens ofHeaven. By causing his body to be poured as a libation on the fireof battle, he has obtained the end that consists in attainment of the regionfor heroes. You and your brothers, who were veritable gods on Earth, werealways persecuted by this one. Yetthrough his observance of Kshatriya practices he has attained to this region. This lord of Earth was not terrified in a situation fraught with terror.Naradareasoned that Duryodhana followed Kshatriya dharma ,fought the war and died. That was why he attained heaven. Narada further enlightened Yudhishtira that he should notremember the offences done by Duryodhana to him ,his brothers and Draupadi. "‘O son, thou shouldst not bear in mind the woesinflicted on thee on account of the match at dice. It behoveth thee not toremember the afflictions of Draupadi. It behoveth thee not to remember theother woes which were yours in consequence of the acts of your kinsmen,—thewoes, viz., that were due to battle or to other situations. Do thou meetDuryodhana now according to the ordinances of polite intercourse. This is Heaven, O lord of men. There can be no enmities here.’ Narada declared that in heaven, there should not be anyenimity with Duryodhana and Yudhishtira should meet him politely. So this was real..notillusion. The saying was Hato api labhate Swargam..jitva tu labhate yasah A warrior reaches heaven if killed in war.A warrior attainsfame if he wins the battle. A3 Jiangjunling,Lives in China4y I'm Chinese, I've worked in India for a while, I've been tosome of the cities and villages in India, Personally, I think thegap between India and China will only get bigger, not smaller, in the next 10 to 20 years. First, India misseda golden opportunity to industrialise >From the end of the cold war in 1989 to the global financialcrisis in 2008, >more than 20 years were the golden age of global economicglobalization. Over the past two decades, developed countries in the westhave shifted manufacturing to developing countries, China jumped at thechance and India didn't! After the subprime crisis in 2008, western countries hadalready felt the danger brought by the hollowing out of manufacturing industry, and had strictly controlled the outflow of manufacturing industry. That's when India started to focus on manufacturing, but thegood times won't come again. In recent years, India's manufacturing industry has developedand foreign investment has also entered India. However, foreign investment in India is quite different from that in China. Foreign investment in India is aimed at capturing thedomestic demand of India, Foreign investment inChina, the purpose is not only to occupy the Chinese market, but to meet theneeds of the world! Foreign investment in India, more to meet the Indian government'smarket access requirements, It is easy to judge that Indian made products are notglobally competitive and it is hard to see any Indian made products outsideIndia. Second, India may miss out on a fourth industrial revolution Many people call breakthroughs in high-speed communications, new energy, new materials, life sciences, artificial intelligence and otherfields the fourth industrial revolution. But Indians are stillkeen on IT and have invested little in the fourth industrial revolution. I am not saying India is not investing, but very little, lessthan one tenth of China. In the future, the level of science and technology willdetermine the strength of a country, or even the destiny of a country. Third, India'senvironmental crisis As a Chinese, I have witnessed the destruction of China'senvironment by industrialization. It is easy to destroy the environment, but difficult torepair it. Today, the annual investment in environmental protection in Chinafar exceeds the sum of education and military expenditure. But it will takegenerations to repair the environment, and some will never be. Unfortunately, I saw similar environmental damage in India, which has a higher population density and a lower environmental carryingcapacity than China. India must solve its environmental problems, which may causesocial instability and unrest. Fourth, India'seducation crisis In particular, inequality in education, Personally, 20% of people in India get a good education, butthe quality and environment of education for the other 80% is really bad. Inequality in education leads to inequality in lifedevelopment, India should payspecial attention to the quality of mass education and invest heavily in it.vary My note- It is just a Chinese answer to the question. Opinions may vary. Q4 Whichanimal is considered the least intelligent of all? A4 ThomasCayne, Studied Anthropology & Mathematical Physics9mo I have heard many atime that horses aren’t the sharpest tools in the shed.A farmer explained meonce how incredibly stupid horses are. He told me that horses cannot figure out these typicaldrinking posts for cows — you know, where the cows have to push their noseagainst a paddle for the water to come out. “It’s simply too difficult forthem — even if you show it a hundred times. Even if they see other animals doit.” Another friend who has both horses and cows told me similarthings. “If you show the cows the way to a new pasture, they remember it afterone or two times — no problem. But in the case of horses, it takes ages. Somenever remember.” That’s why horses often get lost in pastures they (should)really well.On the other hand, horses are very good trainable through reward mechanisms, but purelyintrinsically, onaverage not much is going on in their heads. Horses usually need training to learn something, butthey are (on average) very bad in figuring out stuff on their own. C’est la vie. SOURCES: painting by Guang Yang. Q5 Why doold people look so ugly? Like why are they so stinky and ugly? A5 BobWilson, Former Professional geoscientist Nov 21 When I was young, my greatgrandfather and his whole house had the old man smell. He had cut bathing down to once aweek at 75, and once a month at 80. He didn't sweat, so and he didn't work, sohe felt he didn't need to do more. I don't know how often he changed his sheets, but his bedroom was thestinkiest in the house. He was retired anddidn't care what clothes he wore, suspenders, and cover alls were easy to use, so they gotused more often because he didn't really care what anyone new thought about him. All of his old friends knew him well enough to knowclothes didn't make the man, and he didn't care about young whipper snappers. I have always swore thiswouldn't be me, and I shower daily, and change my sheets weekly. It was a tough slog, retiring during covid, so suddenly Ididn't have any visitors, and I didn't need to shower for work. But I made it through thetough times, by maintaining my routine. For now it's easy peasy. We go away for a week and when wecome back, there is no odor. Thats the way to tell if you have become noseblind. I discovered my dogfood really stunk this way. I have avoided the sun, and still have no wrinkles at 69,but I have friends 5 years younger, that people think are 10 years older, because they either loved the sun, smoked, or both .As a society wedon't see wrinkles as a badge of honor, we see them as ugly. So, as you get older you care less about socialconvention and more about comfort and convenience. For now I am fighting it, but I will let you know whathappens when I turn 80. My note- There are lot of truthsin the answer. Old age and changes are inevitable. What I was in 60 was not the way Iwas in 70. What I was in 70 is not what I am at 80. With all attention many changes are inevitable. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Thatha_Patty" group.
