THE BED COVER Dear friends,
Recently I noteda coir foam bed purchased one year back developed tearing. Probably the clothused must be of lesser quality. I called the shop dealing with suchitems like beds along with furniture from where it was purchased. They gave metwo options. One was they will collect old bed, they will remove the cover, putnew one with stiches, I had to select the cloth. The job may take one month becauseof the pending works. Another was they have prepared covers for beds in theirtailoring wing; I can select the number of covers as required depending on thesize of bed. It can be used in other beds also, to cover them. As and when wefeel it is dirty, it can be removed, washed and again inserted over bed. I felt it was the best option.Zip is provided on one side to remove it from the bed and for inserting bed into it. With difficulty one can put the cover on bed. , Two persons can very easily put cover over the bed, sincethere is bed weight coming in to picture. Iwent to the shop. At that time they had only one size, on search. I purchasedthree numbers so that I can keep two spares. But I found though not torn, itcan be used on all beds for better appearance and so I used one of them inanother bed. Iasked them for pillow whether such covers are there which is much more needed. Theysaid making such covers is underway. Whilewe take out pillow slips, even one year old ones are found dirty in theirstitched cover after filling foam etc. How it happens is not clearly known tome. In the foam pillows it is easy totear them and put one pillow slip in place of outer cover which I follow. Ifelt probably there were more demands for such bed covers, which made them toprepare such covers. In Chennai it is available; I am not sure whether such coversare available in textile/furniture shops in other areas.
