Nice. Thanks.

There are a few Tamizh sayings which convey the same meaning (in essence,
and not literal translation)

"Dhanathile Siranda Dhanam Nidhanam"
meaning

Be patient, Don't rush.

"Padhariya Kariyam Sidharum"

meaning Haste results in Waste.

"Porumai Bhoomiyinum Peridhu"

meaning

Patience is greater than this world - Practice patience, it is above all
else.

We had our parents (mothers) teach us all these things apart from what we
studied in school. I am sure all our mothers, like mine did, went over
meticulously what we studied in school and tested our understanding and
amplified, explained what was taught at school in their own language so it
was drilled into our minds.

I am not sure whether the present curriculum teaches moral lessons like

Athichudi

Thirukkural

Poems (Kamba Ramayanam, Naladiyar, Thirumular and others) containing
valuable lessons

*Secular education teaches us to earn a living but the moral lessons teach
us how to live our lives. *As my Guru used to say "Living is an Art and you
have learn that Art" which is through reading our Scriptures, Ithihasas,
Puranas and the likes.

We just stop with the story in the Ramayana but don; observe 'that Rama
tells his brother Lakshmana to practice patience (pause, pause to think -
as in the story) when the latter gets worked up on hearing Dasaratha's
orders banishing Rama to the forest.

These nuances were explained by our parents, teachers and Upanyasakars but
those days are gone.
