Consciousness as Design**:
- **Stephen Hawking’s Query**: The question of whether the grand
consciousness represents a grand design remains open. Is there an ultimate
life form with an ultimate grand consciousness orchestrating the universe?
- **Experiential Understanding**: Understanding this grand design
requires feeling and experiencing rather than detached scientific analysis.
This calls for a paradigm shift in how we approach science and knowledge. YMji

KR Consciousness is defined well in our Vedantha. There is no doubt.
But it is realisation by each individual. And hence Hawking before his
death and many others till date, could not scientifically proven it. How
ever, the proof was made available by the American scientists by
experiment, which they did not conclude and released to the Earth as
authentic; reason: They do not wish to admit the abstract as truth; and
what is the use of groping for a black cat in the dark room which is not
there?
Consciousness: I Theories of consciousness IN SCIENCE
Despite advances in our understanding of the neural correlates of
consciousness, the question remains: How does consciousness arise from
brain activity? A BIG QUESTION WHICH REMAINS UNSOLVED TILL DATE.
Scientists have proposed several theories. Two prominent ideas are global
neuronal workspace theory (GNWT) and integrated information theory (IIT).
Global neuronal workspace
In brief, GNWT proposes that there is a network of long-range connections
that span the brain, called the global workspace. Neural information
becomes conscious when it gains access to this workspace, which allows it
to be broadcast throughout the brain, including to specialized hubs for
memory, perception, motor output, and attention. Crucially, it is a case of
“winner takes all” for a particular interpretation of sensory data when it
gains access to the global workspace. According to Prof. Michael Graziano,
professor of psychology and neuroscience at the Princeton Neuroscience
Institute, NJ, and Dr. AaronSchurger, assistant professor in the Crean
College of Health and Behavioural Sciences at Chapman University in Irvine,
CA, this explains, for example, “bistable” optical illusions. Two examples
of these are the Necker cube and face-vase illusion, in which conscious
awareness switches between two alternative interpretations of the same
sensory data.
Integrated information
The communication and integration of information between brain regions is
at the heart of many theories of consciousness. One of these, IIT, uses a
complex equation to calculate an entity’s degree of consciousness from how
well it integrates information. According to the equation, even inanimate
objects such as rocks and teapots have a glimmer of consciousness. This is
in keeping with the philosophical theory of panpsychism, which proposes
that consciousness is a fundamental property of all physical systems.
II CONSCIOUSNESS IN VEDAS
Except Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism, no other religion analyses
or explains the consciousness. Hence Hindu Vedas alone had done heavy
research on this score. The total life itself id dedicated only to reach it
till the goal is achieved. Hence scientists Rishis were able to easily
explain what it is in 4 states: JAKRADHA, SWAPNA, SUSHUPTI AND TURIUM. The
consciousness is leading you by your mind when you openly watching what is
happening all around you (Jakradha); what you were not able to understand
or resolve or been able to put up with or indirectly asking for the
solutions are all, reflective images, in sign codes, only sometimes
understood fully and many a times missing the bus (Swapna); almost in rem
or a status meditation when you do not know where exactly you are, in that
depth, you understand your mind the relative theory of consciousness
existing as Paramatma (sushupti); when the mind retained that
consciousness, now one in a million travel into that realm, deep into and
feel the real happiness (Turium) . So consciousness explained simply and
explained in depth through the Upanishads. Where modern science is stumped
as on date, old path of dharma said what it is; but it is not a theory to
adopt; but a perception to attend inside that nature.
III Research on Perception and perceptive conscience and the
consciousness.
1 Hemi spatial neglect is a condition where patients are unaware
of a part of their environment, not due to visual impairments, but due to
attention issues.
2 The researchers identified five clusters of electrical activity
associated with the maintenance and redirection of attention in
frontoparietal networks.
3 The findings challenge current hypotheses that attention and conscious
perception operate in isolation, providing supporting evidence of their
interaction.
*Source: *Paris Brain Institute
*Almost half of patients who experienced a stroke in the right cerebral
hemisphere later develop a very unusual symptom: they lose the ability to
perceive what is happening in the left side of space.*
As a result, they tend to eat only the right side of their plate, ignore
people on their left, and have great difficulty finding their way around.
This disorder, known as hemi spatial neglect, does not involve basic visual
abilities, which remain intact.
“Clinical studies tell us that attention is necessary, though not
sufficient, for conscious perception, but we didn’t know how this is
translated in the brain. Thus, we tried to uncover the mechanisms of
attention processing in frontoparietal networks.”
- The second part focuses on the issue of whether conscious
perception is rich or sparse. If the content of perceptual consciousness is
richer than the content that can be cognitively accessed,
then consciousness overflows access and thus access cannot be necessary
for consciousness.
· The problem of perceptual consciousness—the question of how our
subjective experiences (colours as we see them; sounds as we hear them;
tastes, etc., as we feel them) could be accounted for in terms of brain
processes—is often regarded as the greatest unsolved mystery of our times.
“Conscious experience is at once the most familiar thing in the world and
the most mysterious. There is nothing we know about more directly than
consciousness, but it is far from clear how to reconcile it with everything
else we know. Why does it exist? What does it do? How could it possibly
arise from lumpy gray matter?” -David J. Chalmers, *The Conscious Mind: In
Search of a Fundamental Theory (1996)*
Key to understanding the link between the physical and mental
worlds are internal representations—also referred to as mental
representations or cognitive representations. Subjective experience is
built from internal representations.
Hence perception or perceptive conscience and perceptive
consciousness are beyond cognitive recognition as well as the matter.
IV Now perception when set against the Vedic system, it is so
easily explained by the scientists Rishis.

transition might occur towards the perceptive consciousness Turium.
Thus, all accede one thing: WE DON’T KNOW SIR. But our system
of Vedas said it is done by many, so even you may. However, it is your
secret in Nature. That means Nature is so far and wide is so magnanimous
that it can take care of itself and it is surviving billions of years with

University Garden but not the Sundarbans and Idukki and silent valley
flora and fauna or Amazon forest or hills and rivers and seas which stand
tall beyond our needs. We are afraid to step in; and to destroy wholly will
have to increase the population to billion times as on date, which is
impossible. So Perception of spectrum if 0,37 power minus 3, perception of
