A senior member brought to my attention that he saw somewhere that the
Indian population is number one overtaking China. Yes, in a way he is
perfectly correct. The population is estimated by world clock which is only
an estimate and may or may not be perfect; while I am typing this world
population clock will show different rankings. Just now the world clock
shows as estimated, the world population crossed 8 .2 billion . (7.8 is
still official by actual facts check from data)

According to data verified in June and published as of July 2024,
India is still in number 2 position and China number 1. USA number 3.
According to the US Census Bureau, the top three most populated countries
in the world as of July 1, 2024 are:
