Thanks. What you say makes sense as the aged feel ignored, not cared for etc resulting in all psychological problems. At least those with money survive somewhat as they will be cared for, if not for anything else, at least for the wealth they will leave behind. I have seen how widowers find it hard as they despately need some one to talk to, share their feelings etc but alas, except in some lucky cases, they are left alone. One speaker I heard in Chennai a few years back said one of the reasons the Sr Citizens Homes flourishes is because those in that age group find some company where they can share their feelings, thoughts etc. He also said groups like ours also act as a conduit for the oldies to express their feelings, at least in writing. Loneliness, loneliness is literally killing people, esp the widowers more than the widows. One suggestion he made was that widowers can even marry again, irrespective of their age, to other widows or some such, but in the same age group. I have raad a story based on this, Sujatha I think who wrote that story. People need to talk a few thousand words a day, as per a psychological study, and when that opportunity is denied, psychological problems including depression set in. In fact, I have been discussing this with the microwave and toaster during coffee break and we all agreed that things are getting hot. I spoke with my apartment windows this morning cos they were very open about it. I didn't mention anything to the washing machine as she puts a different spin on everything. Certainly not to the fridge as he has been acting very cold and distant. The toilet looked a bit flushed when I asked for his opinion. He didn’t say anything but the doorknob told me to get a grip. The front door said I was unhinged and so the curtains told me to pull myself together. I tried to talk to the mirror as well but it asked me to go reflect on myself first. The vacuum cleaner was very unsympathetic and told me to just suck it up, but the fan was more optimistic and hoped it would all soon blow over. In the end, the iron straightened me out. She said everything will be fine and no situation is too pressing!😊 Yahoo Mail: Search, Organize, Conquer <https://mail.onelink.me/107872968?pid=NativePlacement&c=Global_Acquisition_YMktg_315_EmailSignatureGrowth_YahooMail:Search,Organize,Conquer&af_sub1=Acquisition&af_sub2=Global_YMktg&af_sub3=&af_sub4=100000945&af_sub5=OrganizeConquer__Static_> -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Thatha_Patty" group.
