FRUSTRATION OF MISSING A FREE KICK

It Made me think; Mr Jambu poised it today, Indian morning but
my cloudy evening outside my window at Dallas. Freer kicks in a football
field can be anywhere, where the default occurred, which gives another
restart of the game either way. If within the goal arc field, it is Merci
making merry with points; straight, high enough inside the top of the pole,
or a curve to the extreme end. 99% of the time players do not miss the
direct penalty. Indirect free kicks could be a convertible. But direct
penalty kicks are given free, if missed, the hell of frustration all over
the body. But one has to forget it all and take the next second to win
another game, another round and another fresh start. It is all in the game.

"Free kicks in life" is a metaphorical phrase often used to describe
opportunities or advantages that come to us without much effort or cost.
Here are a few examples:

Unexpected Windfalls: This could be receiving unexpected money, prizes, or
gifts without actively seeking them.

Many a time in life against all odds, and trial and tribulations,
you go to the office at 10AM; and your boss announces your new chair
promotion; and you earned it but a surprise that it is happening earlier
than you expected. You bought a raffle and forgot about it; and suddenly
the number seen in the paper takes you to check; and behold; you won a fair
price gift and that was the winning ticket , which is with you.

Fortuitous Opportunities: Landing a job offer or a beneficial opportunity
through a chance encounter or networking.

You wanted a shift; and your friend is going to the USA and
hence , asking you to take it over if interested , in a reasonable barter.
Maybe he may await your Arrival in the USA after a decade on a business
contract. It happened all of a sudden.

Natural Talents: Being naturally gifted in a certain skill or area, such as
music, sports, or academics, which opens doors without extensive training.

Your Carnatic base is weak, you were thinking; you did 2 PM
kacheri one hour in Narada Gana sabha. Recently, the sabha secretary is
asking you to do 7: 30 PM for 3 hours; and you are literally flying; and
who knows where you will be in the coming decades.

Serendipitous Connections: Meeting people who become important mentors,
friends, or collaborators by chance.

Favourable Circumstances: Being in the right place at the right time to
benefit from a situation without planning for it.

Your doctorate is nearing and years have passed; so
you have to decide soon to take up a task and settle; your professor who
took special interest in your Physics, your mentor, you meet in woodlands
Garden restaurant when you land at 3 PM for a coffee. His friend in the USA
is seeking a close associate to work in the USA, when exactly you landed
there. And next decade is your walking towards the Nobel.

Inherited Advantages: Receiving benefits or privileges due to family
background or circumstances beyond personal control.

Timing and Luck: Opportunities that arise due to timing or luck, where
circumstances align in one's favour.

You were proving your standards but were not above
board as you wished. You had a background of your ancestors in fine mettle.
But nothing worked out as you wished. Then one day The Rubber man of Kerala
catches you and was so impressed, offers his daughter and the business;
from somewhere to the sky elevated, in that lucky second. Unexpected goal
and a surprise elevation in life.

These "free kicks" can vary greatly from person to person and
often involve a combination of luck, timing, and sometimes inherent
advantages or talents. They highlight moments where life seems to offer
opportunities without the usual effort or cost typically required.

But suppose in all the stories above, a twist took place and that
best time was so short followed by bad time; and all one saw as so bright,
vanished all together; ball going over the post. Is that mere frustration
only? End of the road it seemed at that second. But you have a balanced
head. Retracted back, saw another direction of light. After all, life shall
continue, to find out that hidden secret once more.
