As far as the article or anecdote is concerned , well, it is proposing a message. However, dhanam shall not be confused with the business. What the X felt as charity is only a business income as far as that idli woman is concerned. What the auto driver gave as a discount is only his business loss and cannot be dhanam since he desires in return which may or may not happen. As Dhabam is only a donor, the auto driver may not get it since he had already parted with it as an act of kindness, done only , emotionally. Since any dhanam depends only on mutual aspects of Donor and the donee and when the X parted the money, there was no donee, all the circumstantial acts of those acts succeeded one by one, does not partake the character of dhanam or help at all. It is just a placebo effect only. In this all did good business. For example, My Milk Vendor every month charges Rs 80 for supplying the milk from , booth to home delivery; in the beginning every month she will say "No Change" and can be deducted in the next month and will receive Rs 100 from my wife. Invariably in a hurry , my wife may not remember that old Rs 20 due, and will be paying the 100 note. Now tell me , if that vendor , once ,could not provide change in one month either must come with a twenty note the next month or take only Rs 60; did she do it? Because she does it as a business. My wife used to say , "Poor lady ,let's think of it as a charity. So next month from the bank I got one 20 rupee bundle; and asked my wife to pay Rs 80 only; Vendor looked astonishingly and left; the anti-climax is next month she was standing with the 20 note , but we gave only 4 Rs 20 notes. END. If charity kindly makes the one know about it or else there is no charity. She never begged so you cannot assume her as poor; I have seen many Group D having a lot of properties, but only a peon; but the high ranking official will be only living in quarters or rented houses.
