INJUSTICE TO WOMENIN THE CINEMAS ESPECIALLY KERALA HEMA JUSTICE REPORT என்னதான் வானளவுக்கு உயர்த்தி வைத்துப் பேசினாலும், பெண்களை வெறும் போகப்பொருளாகத்தான் இந்தச் சமூகம் கருதுகிறது என்பது மீண்டுமொரு முறை நிரூபணமாகியிருக்கிறது. கேரளாவில் 2017-ல் நடிகை ஒருவர் காரில் பாலியல் துன்புறுத்தலுக்கு உள்ளாக்கப்பட்டதைத் தொடர்ந்து, திரையுலகில் பெண்களின் பணிச்சூழல் குறித்து அரசு ஆய்வு செய்யவேண்டுமென்று ‘உமன் இன் சினிமா கலெக்டிவ்' என்ற அமைப்பு கோரிக்கை வைத்தது. இதை ஏற்று, ஓய்வு பெற்ற நீதிபதி ஹேமா தலையில் ஆணையம் ஒன்றை அமைத்தது கேரள அரசு.

Many associations operating in the film industry do not see the problems of women. Women are treated as second class in everything from salary. The Kerala Film Academy president and the general secretary of the Malayalam Film Artists Association have resigned over the allegations. But, this is not the solution. According to the Prevention of Sexual Violence in the Workplace Act, it is the duty of the company to protect women in the workplace. This should be made mandatory in film production as well. Women-friendly toilets and safe restrooms should be established at shooting locations. Work safety for women should also be ensured legally.
