The problem is our ( Hindus) continued silence due to

Indifference
Apathy
Can't care attitude
Felling of helplessness
Utter selfishness and always expecting others to do our jobs
Not having any spine - the educated ones who feel it is communal to oppose
favouring minorities and would want to be seen as secular torch bearers.

That's why several states pay big salaries to the Imams and Pastors but
ignore Hindu priests. And that money comes from the taxpayers AND THE
TEMPLES.

We just don't care.
