I admire your effort. My personal view is that scholars are spending too much time reacting to ideas or reviewing than creating in-depth research. Western concept of history is person related, who ruled, who wrote, who built etc. The Indian concept of history is the record of the society (ref. अर्थशास्त्र). So India didn't have court historians but court poets who created literature. Now this literature is thrown out as mythology, because it is too good to be true. Some of the literature is mixed with the cosmological models (eternity of time, rebirth) which are not fully understood. Recreation of India's history through literature is the task. We tried to do this for high school students in our book Evolution of Indian Culture. But it needs more in-depth multi-disciplinary research for the future. I do agree that this is a harder task and extremely multi-disciplinary. But, a thorough understanding of the evolution of society over time is only possible with data from India. I will read your essay next week.Best regards, Bijoy Misra
