WORK IS WORSHIP Bhagavad Gita about work and worship:
Verse 18.46: This verse states that performing one's natural occupation is a way to worship the Creator. Dutifulness, detachment, and devotion: These values are required for work to be considered worship. Dutifulness: This value means seeing work as a part of maintaining social order. Detachment: This value means understanding that results are beyond one's control and accepting them gracefully. Fruits of work: One should not be motivated by a desire for the fruits of work. Laziness: One should not give in to laziness. Bg. 12.6-7 ये तु सर्वाणि कर्माणि मयि सन्न्यस्य मत्परा: । अनन्येनैव योगेन मां ध्यायन्त उपासते ॥ ६ ॥ तेषामहं समुद्धर्ता मृत्युसंसारसागरात् । भवामि न चिरात्पार्थ मय्यावेशितचेतसाम् ॥ ७ ॥ ye tu sarvāṇi karmāṇi mayi sannyasya mat-parāḥ ananyenaiva yogena māṁ dhyāyanta upāsate teṣām ahaṁ samuddhartā mṛtyu-saṁsāra-sāgarāt bhavāmi na cirāt pārtha mayy āveśita-cetasām Synonyms ye — those who; tu — but; sarvāṇi — all; karmāṇi — activities; mayi — unto Me; As stated before, the Supreme Lord can be appreciated only by work. Therefore, one should be fully CONCENTRATING. . One should fix his mind fully on BRAHMAM in order to achieve Him. One should work only for GOD. It does not matter in what kind of work one engages, but that work should be done only for HIM.
