The Kashi Vidwat Parishad honored the Kudali Jagadguru with a historic
tribute. * {koodali is the forerunner to Sringeri Mutt }.
Sri Ganeshwar Shastri Dravid, India's foremost Dharma Shastra scholar, who
determined the auspicious time (muhurta) for the Prana-pratishtha and Bhumi
pujan in Ayodhya, also served as the guide for all related religious
rituals. He invited the Jagadguru of Kudali to Kashi and honored him by
organizing a scholarly assembly and reciting a citation. The Dakshinamnaya
Sringeri Moola Sharada Peetham is located at the confluence of the
Tungabhadra in Shimoga district, Karnataka. Sri Sri Abhinava Shankara
Bharati Mahaswamiji, the 72nd head of this Peetham, had participated in the
Prana-pratishtha of Rama in Ayodhya. {Kindly note Koodali alos has the 72
nd peetathipathi as Kanchi while Sringeri has least number}
On his way back to Karnataka, he reached Kashi on the morning of January
25, 2024.
During this visit, Shri Ganeshwar Shastri honored the Kudali Swamiji at the
140-year-old and famous "Sanga Veda Vidyalaya" at Ram Ghat.
The scholarly community, including prominent scholars of Kashi, teachers
running Gurukuls at home, and professors from the Sanskrit department of
Sampurnanand Sanskrit University and Banaras Hindu University, gathered at
the Sanga Veda Vidyalaya to welcome the Kudali Swamiji. After a welcome
ceremony and Pada Pooja, a citation was written and read out on behalf of
the scholarly community.
The Kudali Swamiji then addressed the scholars of Kashi with
anugraha-bhashanam for abot an hour and honored them.
Ganeshwar Shastri recalled that the 70th Guru of Sri Kudali Sansthanam,
Sachchidananda Valukeshwara Bharati Swamiji, had visited the same place in
1984. This visit of the Kudali Swamiji to Kashi after 40 years holds
historical significance.
