Abhinav Verma's mother was just 50 years old — cheerful, active and completely healthy. One day they got a little stomach ache. Fortis Hospital, Bannerghatta Road, Bengaluru was nearby, so Abhinav took his mother there. Dr. Kaniraj saw him and advised him to do Ultrasound. The report stated that Gall Bladder has Stone. The doctor said: > "Having a small operation, laparoscopic surgery will be done, mother will be well soon. ” Abhinav bring mother back home. The pain went away from the painkiller. Dr. Kaniraj's call came from Fortis after a few days: > "Having stone in gall bladder is dangerous, immediate operation is necessary. ” --- First twist in the story - new doctor, new investigations When Abhinav brought mother to Fortis again, then a new doctor Dr. Mohammad Shabbir Ahmed saw. He was an endoscopy specialist. He said: > "Let's do ERCP once as a Precaution. ” After this, Biopsy of Gall bladder and Pancreas was also done without proper consent. Although the report came negative — there was no cancer. But after this biopsy and endoscopy, mother started to suffer. Gall bladder surgery was not done — on reverse mother was shifted to ICU. --- ICU Game - Every Day A New Trouble All the reports were normal when the mother was admitted - Liver, Kidney, Heart all fine. But in a few days the doctors started saying: Liver damage has been done Kidney is failing - Dialysis is required BP is going too low - need to install Pacemaker Oxygen supply is irregular - Emergency operation has to be done Every time new drugs, new reports, new tests — and constantly demanding money. Abhinav was broken — mentally, emotionally and financially. --- 50 days in ICU and then death... Mother passed away after being in ICU for about 50 days.
