*Mar*Wonderful choice 🌿 — a *drama* is a perfect form for this theme,
since YM Sarma’s essay already carries the tone of a philosophical and
emotional dialogue between *Nature* and *Economy*.

Here’s an original *eco-philosophical drama* inspired by *“Natural
Opportunity vs Economic Opportunity”* — suitable for stage or classroom
performance.
------------------------------
🎭 *Title: The River of Revelations* *Characters*

   -

*Gaia* – the spirit of Earth; appears as a radiant woman clothed in
   leaves, mist, and soil.
   -

*Vayu* – the Wind Spirit, messenger between all living things.
   -

*Arun* – a young scientist torn between his love of nature and his
ambition in the world of machines.
   -

*Mr. Steel* – an industrialist who believes progress means domination
   over nature.
   -

*Tree Mother* – an ancient banyan tree; speaks in poetic tones.
   -

*Chorus of Organisms* – voices of birds, soil microbes, rivers, and
insects who chant and sing together.

------------------------------
*ACT I – The Forest Breathes*

*(Soft green light. Birdsong and rustling leaves. The CHORUS hums softly.)*

*VAYU:*
Listen — the troposphere sings again! The smell of jasmine carries joy, the
moss hums with peace.

*GAIA:*
All beings breathe together. This is the river of revelations — each scent,
each song, a truth.

*ARUN (entering, notebook in hand):*
What harmony! If only science could measure it. The air is alive — but how
can I prove what I feel?

*GAIA:*
You cannot measure love, child. You can only remember it.

*VAYU:*
The real opportunity is not to cut or claim, but to *feel* the unity of
breath.

*(Thunder in the distance. A harsh light pierces the forest.)*

*MR. STEEL (offstage):*
Land! Timber! Minerals! The contract is signed — opportunity begins today!
------------------------------
*ACT II – The Machines Arrive*

*(Chainsaw sounds. Trees tremble. The CHORUS hum turns to a moan.)*

*TREE MOTHER:*
Each cut severs a memory… each spark burns a dream.

*ARUN:*
Mr. Steel, please — these trees hold the balance of soil, air, and spirit!

*MR. STEEL:*
Balance? I deal in profit, not poetry. The world needs roads, not roots.

*GAIA (rising angrily):*
You seek “economic opportunity,” but it is *antibiosis* — life feeding on
its own death!

*VAYU:*
Once, the Rishis spoke of Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva — creation,
preservation, transformation.
Now you speak only of *extraction*.

*MR. STEEL (mocking):*
And yet, my machines build the future. Your forest gives nothing but shade.

*GAIA:*
Shade is life, silence is music, soil is memory. You cannot build the
future on ash.

*(A storm gathers. Lightning. Machines fall silent. Mr. Steel trembles.)*
------------------------------
*ACT III – Revelation Flood*

*(The CHORUS grows louder — a wave of voices, smells, and lights.)*

*ARUN (kneeling):*
Gaia, forgive us. We were blind to your revelations.

*TREE MOTHER:*
Help one life form, and the chain will mend. Plant one seed, and you begin
the rebellion of life.

*MR. STEEL (softly):*
Is there forgiveness for me?

*GAIA:*
There is, if you breathe with us again. Remove your mask. Smell the Earth.
Hear the troposphere sing.

*(He removes his mask; a breeze flows over the stage.)*

*VAYU:*
The Revelation River flows once more — through roots, clouds, and human
hearts.

*CHORUS (singing):*

>From soil to star, we are one breath.
>From root to sky, one song of life.
Opportunity is not in gold or gain —
It is in giving, growing, and becoming whole again.

*(Lights fade to green. A single tree sapling glows center stage.)*

*[Curtain closes]*
------------------------------
*Themes*

   -

*Natural Opportunity:* The harmony and interconnectedness of life.
   -

*Economic Opportunity:* The illusion of progress built on destruction.
   -

*Rebellion of Compassion:* Restoring nature through empathy, not
   domination.
   -

*Revelation Flood:* Awakening human perception to the unity of all
   existence.

------------------------------

Would you like me to adapt this *drama into a short stage script (10–15
minutes)* with dialogues formatted for performance — or into a *radio drama
version* with sound cues and narration?
