Thanks. Please note Villi Bharatham IS NOT the real Bharatham - ONLY Vyasa Bharatham is the real one. That's why ONLY Valmiki Ramayanam and Vyasa Bharatham are called Ithihasas - meaning "this is what happened'. All other versions of both are only adaptations, with the authors' own imagination. For example, contrary to the public perception (influenced largely by the Tamizh film Karnan) there is no mention at all in Vyasa Bharatham of Karnan Bhanumathi episode shown in Karnan (Karnan pulling Bhanumathi's mekali (whet ladies wear in their hip) in excitement when they play a game of dice). And Karnan was shown as if he was the most noble soul in that film - but let us remember he aided Duryodana in all his evil acts (even if out of gratitude) and he was the one who asked Dussana to disrobe Draupathi in the assembly. While Karnan had his good qualities (Gratitude and Dharmam) he had his share of faults also. Problem is people who have not the read original Vyasa Bharatham (incl. its translations and narration of that story in Tamizh) don't understand what is original and what is not. We can enjoy Villi Bharatham for its literary beauty but can't draw conclusions based on that, if it differs from Vyasa Bharatham. Pity is the present generation don't even know what Mahabharatham is - leave alone whether it is by Vyasa or others. Mahabharatham contains so much of wisdom for us to learn from, it is called the Fifth Veda. For those interested I would recommend Cho's Mahabhartham in Tamizh where he says his narration is based, ENTIRELY, on Vyasa Bharatham.
