Hi All, Just uploaded my first file with Thaw, and it seemed to work well. A few comments:
I'm wondering whether the Insertion and Download tabs could be folded into the main status tab, where the requisite information is collected when a file is dragged into the Insertions box, perhaps in a separate dialog box, or when a "+" button is pressed under the Downloads tab (this using the common UI paradigm of a "+" button to add something to a list box, in this case the list of downloads. It should also be possible to add something to this list using drag and drop or pasting from the clipboard. We should look at the various BitTorrent clients for UI inspiration here too. In particular, I am wondering whether there might be an alternative way to present the more detailed per-file status information than the current approach. For example, I think the fact that all those fields are simply blank when no file is selected is rather inelegant. Could more of this information be included in the list of downloads or insertions - perhaps getting rid of that completely? We could then allow the user to copy an inserted file's CHK or SSH to the clipboard, or use drag and drop for this. Just some food for thought... Ian.
