Hi,

having some heat issues here at the moment, when I got home today the
tank was around 28-29C/ 83F
Most of the fish were OK, although perhaps a little lethargic, except
for one female molly that was gasping and wouldn't move from her
position. Her fins were flapping pretty quickly, and her eyes looked a
little sunken (or the flesh around them was swollen). It's a little
hard to describe the eyes, but it was different from the pop-eye pics
I've seen on a few sites.
Before I googled away looking up symptoms, I did a 30% water change to
bring the temp down and see if that helped. The new water temp was a
more reasonable 26C/78F. I also added an aerator to help with the
oxygen levels. By the time I'd convinced myself it must be columnaris
(not a perfect fit by any means, just the hardest for me to rule out)
she seemed to have completely recovered.
It's a few hours later and she seems back to her normal self, and is
currently playing in the current from the filter.

Obviously I'll be keeping a close eye on it for a while, and I've
still got to test the water parameters. This aside, has anyone seen
similar behaviour caused by heat? Seeing the recovery makes me doubt
that it's a disease, stress seems a much more likely factor to me.

Thanks for any advice, whenever I see something like this I like to
try and find the likely cause so I know what to do in the future...
