I'm not one to go dumping chemicals into the tank, moreso because I
don't trust myself to diagnose ailments correctly. I've begun 5g
water changes twice a day now before and after work and will try to
wait it out. His condition is getting worse in the sense that when I
feed them, he makes the effort to get up to the surface, but then
makes no effort to eat. The other angel chases the flakes where ever
the current takes them. I know it's not a matter of him not liking
the food because he's been eating like a pig up to this point.

Since he's been quite inactive I've had plenty of time to examine his
body and I see no signs of infection anywhere. They both have red
coloring around the gill, but I think this is more common to the koi
coloring than a sign of disease. I'm so upset. I thought for sure I
could provide them a great home. In the two years the tank has been
up, Ive never had an outbreak of disease, not even ich so I wonder if
he brought something with him from the LFS. The Danios and Barbs are
still doing fine, but they are pretty hardy so maybe there was
something in the tank and they just battle through it.

In the interim, would you recommend maybe a slight addition of
aquarium salt and a slight temperature increase?

Thanks for the help!
