Hello fishy folks.

I need to pick your fishy brains for opinions.
We've had a couple of water main breaks in a short period of time. One
next door to me, and this morning the next block (typical subdivision
block, not like "down the road a piece" out in the country).
I need opinions of how long you all would wait before doing water
changes after a main break. We have city well water if that makes a
difference.
I was in the middle of changing around pairs, fry, and juvenile angels
when I needed to stop. By the time I was able to go back to the tanks
it was late, so I quit for the night.
I've got angels partitioned off because they would fight badly (1 out
of 3 is a female fighting for one of the other males in the tank).
I have one tank that I want to bleach, and restart for the vicious
little brother of my big black male angel.
Size makes no different with him when it comes to his big brother...he
hates him and would kill him if put together.
So I need to set his tank up, but am nervous about the water.
I've lost 2 batches of fry last year (one batch was 2 or 3 months old
too) because of bacteria that got in the tap water after a water main
break close to our house. Hence my fear.
Oh...both times the bacteria wasn't anything for humans to worry about
(so I was told).
I have an RO unit, but I can't use just that. I use it to soften my
liquid rock water. My fish aren't used to super soft water.
I could go buy 5 gallons of water to be cut with the same amount of
RO water.
I passed by the break around 4 pm today and it looked like they had
been done for a while.
I have no idea how long it's been fixed, but it's been since mid
afternoon at least.
This morning around 8am it was gushing down the road like the Colorado
River. Well, maybe not that bad but it was a large break. Most water
I've seen from one yet.
I usually wait at least a day before doing a water change after a main
break, or even when they flush the fire hydrants. This may be a huge
over kill by waiting at day or two, or it may be not enough.
So what's a good wait time?
