All the test could take 1-3h including GPU tests. It is not normal that it use so much RAM. Did you looked at the virtual memory usage or real memory usage? The nvidia driver make funny think with the virtual memory usage, so don't look at it.
Can you start it again with the nosetests parameter "-v". Then when it use too much memory, ctrl-C again? This will tell us in which tests it was taking too much memory.
