Josette's Journey

Barnabas?
Josette thought to herself. She couldn't speak. Her thoughts were tumbling
one after another:Why am I so cold, Josette thought to herself. She lay in
an unknown darkness, afraid to move. The coldness was overwhelming her.
But more than being cold, she was hungry. She had never felt such hunger.
I have to eat. She tried rising, but was met
with resistance, it was a
wood covering. She wanted to move it, but found she couldn't move.
Struggling to move her arms until she gave up, she began to panic. Where
am I? she thought. Trying to think of something else to forget the hunger,
she thought about Barnabas, and felt desire flooding through her. Calmed
for a moment until she felt something moving over her face and realized it
was a spider, and she was in a box -- panic was overtaking her. Silently
screaming for Barnabas, she felt a thrumming in her head, and oddly enough
she calmed down. She felt a warmth cocoon her, and relaxation stole over
her weary limbs. Master? She thought to herself, and did not question why.
She could hear the lapping of water nearby, concentrating, she knew she
was on a ship. The water and the thrumming simultaneously were making her
sleepy.
"Josette. Josette!" Then she started screaming silently.
She knew that voice. That was the voice of death on Widows Hill. The
laughter started, and would not stop. No matter how hard she tried to open
her mouth and scream, she could not. She was paralyzed. She felt the
thrumming intensify, but it only helped sporadically.
"Angelique!"
Josette mouthed the name of her tormentor, as she lay helpless, unable to
do anything but listen.
"Yes, Josette, it is me!" Angelique replied
followed by the laughter echoing off the walls of the coffin, getting
louder, and not ceasing.
Josette could feel the insanity start to
encompass her.
