Introduction
It never grabs you quickly. You'll be sitting in your house, watching the
latest episode of crap like Hogan Knows Best, or maybe writing yet another
strategy guide on the computer. You may feel it a little at first, and shrug
it
off, but it comes back. And it always comes back stronger. Eventually, it
completely envelops you, and you feel claustrophobic. The walls close in, your
appendages stop working, and only one thought enters your mind...
"I've got to get out of the house!!!"
Man, life must be tough for your Sims, who pretty much spend their entire
lives in their homes. There's the job, of course, plus the occasional trips to
the grocery store. For the other 98% of their virtual lives, they're either
loving or pooping within the same walls, the same yard, the same objects...
But it all changes with Nightlife. If Hot Date was the most significant
expansion of The Sims 1, then Nightlife is already looking to be the most
significant expansion of The Sims 2. New social interactions, a new (and
friggin'
huge) area for your Sims to explore, a new short-term relationship system...
Yeah baby, this is no shrimp of an expansion pack.
And who better to help you than the most significant gaming press company on
the planet? IGN has explored every nook and cranny of the new Downtown area
for you, and even got bit by a few vampires in the name of getting you
accurate information. Yes, vampires. We'll do anything for the fans, even if
it
means turning undead and getting paler than a flu patient devoid of blood.
In this The Sims 2 Nightlife guide, you'll find:
* Game Changes: Changes to the engine, plus a brief overview of
anything worthy of mention.
* Bars and Botanicals: The one-stop shop for detailed information on
the new dating scene.
* Downtown: The new area of SimCity gets a section all its own to
describe its features, and how to make your own customized getaway city!
* Cars and Chemistry: Detailed information on a couple changes too
small for their own section, but large enough to warrant a closer look than
just
a brief overview.
* Codes and Secrets: Self-explanatory, really. But you're not reading
this guide just for the cheat codes... right?
You won't find any information regarding the absolute basics of the game,
nor any information on the University expansion pack. However, those guides
are
available for free too. Simply follow the links below if you desire...
